Tour de France

Post by WelshDragon »

Paris-Nice is currently taking place, although 2 teams have pulled out due to CV19. I wonder if the TdF will happen this year? I hope so coz that’s normally 3 weeks in late June / July that keeps me busy and out of trouble!

The Belgian classics are not happening which makes me very very sad as I was supposed to be watching 2 of them.

The Tour, I'm hopeful it will go ahead, but not confident yet.

I see the Giro has been postponed although they’re not sure of the new date as yet. I guess the Criterium de Dauphine may go the same way......

As France seems to be going on lock down, Spain too, it will mean training becomes increasingly difficult. And then there os the no big events thang ...

I think it will not happen ...

I hope so, having trained to do Liege Bastone Liege Challenge again, I'm already more than a bit pissed off. No idea what's happening about our air bnb, train tickets and entry fees.
The classics are my favourite events, followed by the grand tours.

I was supposed to be going to Budapest for the start of Giro and Nice for the start of the Tour, doubt that is going to happen :(

Yeah I think it'll still be Roglic Vs Bernal at the end with hopefully Pinot in there too.

Today was good, nice attacking from Yates but hd was never going to match Alaphilippe in the last 300n

Afternoon peeps! Long time, no see.

Glad to see the TDF is taking place. Fingers crossed that it finishes. What an odd stage today? No breakaway, very rare, even the commentators were bored! I hope someone does something innovative soon though, coz it’s not exactly been exciting so far.....

Depends what you class as exciting, early stages are never that exciting usually in northern France.

WVA was awesome today and an Irish rider wearing a Jersey. How's that not exciting?

They did the D994 today from Serres to Nyons. A super fast, fantastic road on a motorbike. Better from Nyons to Serres though.

Fantastic to see them up the route Napoleon on stage 3 through my beloved Castellane.
I should have been there but for the travel ban.

It’s a shame Yates isn’t in line for GC but the team manager doesn’t seem to think he’s up to it this year. Mind you he often delivers something extraordinary, so I hope he gets a stage or two.

The run in to finish was pretty good in the end. Harsh penalty aswel, rules is rules. 🤷‍♂️
