Our Merc is like that but you can see the rear ones in your rear view mirror as that’s the idea of themKungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:46 am The parking sensors in my SL are weird.
The fronts display on a little light bar on the dash and go from one little orange light to five and a RED in a nano second.
The rears are on a little light bar... behind you. So you have to look over your should when reversing if you want to use them rather than just listening to the beeps.

And does Weeksy really have car seats in his front garden?

Re: New car day... the end of the Saga...
That's row 3 from the van that were removed to test space and bicycles.
Bicycles are quite tight when the 2nd row are installed. Well, with both wheels on they are tight, but they do fit, which is a win.
Stereo installed with BT, apple play, android auto etc. Works a charm. It has a cable connection for the AP and AA which at first I didn't want, but it does give me charging for phone in the van which I wouldn't have as there's no USB port, so I do actually want it.
Bluetooth and Spotify is all via BT, the dab is installed of course, but for Nav and AP and AA, it's cable, which is ace.
So how's the van? Well I'm 125 miles and several journeys in now and it's brilliant. It drives lovely and nicely. The engine is getting a bit revvy/noisy over 70, but other than that it's lovely and quiet to drive.
Gearbox is smooth, if a little long between some gears.
Seats are superb and comfortable, especially with arm rests lol.
Air con is icy cold, especially in flip flops!
Cruise control is nice and now I've worked out the arm it's easy.
So all in all, it's spot on.

Is there no single seat in the back to give more room when the three of you are away? I never knew there was a LWB version as well. Yours is a nicer colour though

Yup, the passenger row is 60/40 so we'll use that at times for a smidgen more space.

My Apple play stereo needs a cable connection too. Bt is better but with a cable you do get there with a charged phone.

Can you actually get full Android Auto via Blutooth? I didn't think you could. I can connect using Blutooth for phone and Spotify use but have to plug in if I want the full Auto function like Tomtom/Google maps, podcasts etc etc and that's on a car that's 2 weeks old.

The ICE manual is nearly the same size as the main manual for the car....and half of that is safety features. I feel slightly depressed just thinking about reading it.

Not on mine, it's cable only for both apple and Android for full functionality.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:37 pm Weeksy has a handy 13 year old who can do it without even looking up from fortnight.
The full ones can be bought but as I wanted charging capabilities anyway this was the way we went.
To be honest, I didn't know any of this in advance, I just left it to him and this is where we are.
I won't use Waze or Maps that often to care, but certainly in next few years it'll get used

Rip out the safety and recycling pages, then it will look much smaller.Count Steer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:34 pm

Count's 2 week old car probably has wireless phone charging, one of the few genuinely useful tech add ons of recent years.

Child is still snoring merrily in the back of the van whole parked outside the house
He was properly excited when I said he was allowed to do so.

It does. But since it charges when wired in for AA it's not been used. However, it does mean a passenger can charge theirs.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:58 pmCount's 2 week old car probably has wireless phone charging, one of the few genuinely useful tech add ons of recent years.
In my own car it has a proprietary socket instead of a USB in order to connect fully. (Has a 12v cig lighter type socket for connecting chargers/cool box etc too). The previous owner thoughtfully left the £30 (!) connector....for an Apple phone. So I stupidly bought a USB version of the connector*. Turns out the car only does the Apple thing and not Android and I didn't need it anyway as the wireless BT connection works just fine and the car has built in GPS. (Which costs stupid money if you want to update the maps though Big advantage of the Auto type connections is updates.)
* I bought a cheap s/h Apple phone first just to try it out. Binned it off and bought a better s/h Android/Samsung.
