Forest of Dean / off piste. 19th or 26th sept.
Taff has kindly offered to guide a day out again in and near the forest of Dean. Last time there was truly one of my best days MTB ever, beers and burgers for lunch, trails and laughs chasing the small lads down trails.
We'll go with whichever you all pick in the dates out of 19/26
So, who's playing?

I'm in
initial thought is to do a very similar route to last time so that it's suitable for all unless anyone want's to do something more / less technical

most of us on the last ride were very much in the camp of 'wheels on the ground'.
the trails are, in the most part, not particularly steep, just about everything is rollable and provided that you've ridden off road before and are comfortable riding small drops then you'll be fine.
If you're more adventurous then there's quite a few smallish jumps (i.e. 12") that you can hit if you want to or roll around if you don't.
there will be up to about 2500ft of climbing, but again it's at your own pace. The aim is to have fun.

Sorry folks, I can't make this one. I'm going camping on 26th and I doubt I can get a pass for two weekends running.

we can push it back a month if you'd like. That would give my ankle time to get up to full strength as well.

You're fine going without me matey, but no chance of me being outdoors by then I'm afraid

Never been over to Dowies.
It was a 2 min ride and i was at the top of the cannop woods sections, so could choose steady, crikey or i'm going to die levels.

Just been told, plaster for 8 weeks... So clearly i'm a NO.

I think I'm going to push this one back by a bit, I twisted my ankle quite badly a few weeks ago and it was getting betterer, but last night while training my dog I tweaked it again . it's just not strong enough to ride off road, and I can't really see that changing in the next couple of weeks.
couple that with today's Covid announcement, Weeksy's bust hand and the lack of replies here I feel it's not quite right to carry on.
