For the life of me I can't get on with the quickshifter? Maybe I need to just persevere, but it just seems so wrong? I'm no stranger to clutchless upshifts, but not backing off the throttle...

I appreciate I'm n a class of one here, but I can't help thinking I'm damaging something! I'm only wearing trainers at the moment, so maybe I'll feel different with bike boots on? I must say blatting it through tunnels listening to the exhaust is bloody lovely though! I think I'll try and find my ankle bike boots and see if that does make it feel better?

Quickshifter is a nice thing on a bike,not necessary at all for the road,but when it comes down to it,neither are bikes.
I'd certainly use it if a bike came stock with one,but I wouldn't bother fitting an aftermarket jobbie. Mine has no leccy aids apart from ABS.
It's probably just years of inbuilt mechanical sympathy that makes it feel wrong to you TenPin,but if you can get over that,you'll probably enjoy it. Going back to a bike with no QS may be more problematic.

Dunno. From my memory of Brit gearboxes a quickshift would have simply got you from one neutral to another faster while sounding like you were grinding coffee beans. An auto double-declutch would have been though. I don't think you are in a class of one. The second time I rode it I did use the QS most of the time. But only cos I kept repeating 'It's got a QS' in my head. I think over time I'd get used to it, but a bit like TC and ABS 27 years of bike riding conditioning I find hard to reprogram.

QS up is great on road or track, it's just easy and becomes the norm. QS down on road is a bit, well, I've pretty much stopped using it, no hard braking on road much. On track it's ace, banging down on big brakes, it makes lot's of sense.
Change tyres today, putting back wheel back in, was a fvukin nightmare. Back brake ain't right. Away from home at mo, in Ashbourne, but will have to look again.

I've done clutchless shifting up and down loads on the Bonnie. The only downside to this bike is the rock hard plank of a seat. Even now I still have a sore arse by the time I get to work or home. So I've admitted defeat and decided to buy a comfort seat. Thats not as easy as it sounds, as opinions vary as to which is better out of an OEM comfort seat or a shad or a custom build on your own one? But the clincher was finding out the OEM one gives more leg room and I know how much I appreciated that on my F800 and MT07, so trigger pulled and the Yamaha Comfort Seat will be here next week!
I keep thinking about the remap but am more drawn to that to lower the engine running temps although I suppose it could be running a bit leaner now with the BW system on. Prices are strange though. £150 post in at Weeksys recommended place or £260 at Setons. They all use the same software so the differnce seems a bit spiteful just to drop some points around on the A/F ratio! I could maybe ride up to Setons in Colchester and whip off the ECU and get them to do it whilst I wait, which would be more convenient if they would do that? I'll sleep on it for a bit I think?

My seat isn't too bad, but it's not as good as the Duke was. I've considered one of these as know a couple of people with them and they say they add comfort as well as cooling, not sure I've ever really suffered from hot butt cheeks I must say.
