Android updates - sneaking in changes ...

Android Samsung S something phone, set up for double-click power opens the camera.

Take a couple of pics.

Go to Gallery

A few weeks ago they changed it so that the preview only shows one image, click on that to get a 'film strip' of images.

This time, click gives a 'tiles' view - and it seems to have recorded video as well as stills.

I don't know whether to be peeved or impressed!

Sounds like you have motion photo switched on. Square box with small arrow pointing right at top of camera screen.

Wots the difference between motion picture and video????

I think if you're anything less than steady with the phone, mine takes a string of pics so you can choose the best one - so it looks as if you have a film strip. Probably called 'wobbulator control' or some such.

Wots the difference between motion picture and video????

Motion Photo puts a little context into the making of the shot by letting you capture a few seconds of action leading up to when the shutter button is released. It even allows you to pinpoint which moment you want to preserve as the still frame. Also, when it comes to sharing photos with friends and family, you have the option to share the Motion Photo as a video file.

Think I need to have a play! Typically I'll take a few near-identical pics anyway and filter out down to the best to keep.
