Goes in the garage with the Diavel and the Triumph Scrambler..
And yes, I know it is slow, top heavy and old ...

But it is real hoot to ride ....

Looks fantastic - there's a certain look to the Gen1, the square headlight Ducati SS models have it too.

What is the 'project' aspect? Looks pretty well looked after...

Which is good point - cosmetically it needs a tidy up - wheels probably need repainting. Clutch cover needs a refurb. And the hideous Remus has to do ...
Mechanically it runs really, really well.
It will be left more or less as is - it’s a keeper

So it shouldn’t really be project - just new very old bike

What's wrong with the pipe?

Looks like an alloy Remus GP, I had one on my R6 in 1999, it was aces, Remus are a quality brand!

it is a Remus GP: But in a previous life , i think it might have been carried by a grunt through both Gulf Wars, or used as a gun barrel. It is denting, scarred , scraped etc - so the photo makes it look better than it is . It is hugely long - not help by a longish link pipe. It was "oddly mounted" with a prefabricated piece of alloy but I now have the correct strap.

I have a Mivv Shorty Carbon can from a Tuono that I have looked at using - but I may just buy a SP engineering one to suit.

They didn't have a strap originally

I've had two of them, an alloy and a carbon (R6 and Fireblade), they have two captive nuts inside the sleeve that a bracket bolts on to.

That sounds like what it had ...
But it meant it was bolted onto the footrest holder , rather than the exhaust mount. Aesthetically it didn't do it for me!

I like SP Engineering. Have one on the Honda and it has stood up well to all year riding and still looks good. Sounds nice baffle in as well.

Carbon look end and black aluminium body. Bike has just been washed.

Held up extremely well. It looks new if I take the hanger off and give it a polish. 3 winters riding through London, parked outside and just given a wipe with ACF50 every now and then.
