Troyes is lovely, architecture very different from the South.

Troyes is best known for being a major manufacturer of street furniture : lampposts and the like.

When I was in Sarlat-le-Caneda recently the bar in the main square was selling Guinness for a tenner. No I don't know why you would choose Guinness on a hot day in the SofF either, but just saying ...

Fuel prices are all over the shop, Supermarkets are late 190's, locals are 213ish and the Motorways are just stupid at 225.

Not always - but they are definitely stupid silly in tourist areas. And Annecy is one of the top tourist areas, especially in the summer :D :D

And I know, they aren't 20p a pint like on the beach on your island

Everyone else I've seen on ADV bikes have the full matching adventure suits on. Not that I've seen many this trip, Harley's out number everything at least 15-1.

I did the two finger wave thing at a group of four pan America's and they didn't wave back.

I think there must have been some massive HD gathering somewhere as there was so many of them.

Courchevel at the weekend apparently.

Some of the 'locals' lower down in Bozel were whimpering a bit online about the noise of all the Harleys!!
