Be careful .... they're letting me near knives and sharp objects.

Post by Futter »

At the beggining of all this C19 stuff I quit my job and ended up in one of those temp 4hr contracts at my local supermarket. Fast forward to today and I am now an aprentice butcher. Course started today although I've been doing the work for a week or so. Also doing fishmongery but thats in house rather than with an external company. Good fun so far although my hands stink of fish after work.

Not really, I dont get paid any less and actually get a whole 20p an hour more now. Once qaulified I get the full rate (after 15 months) and I get a useful skill.

Couple of local butchers near me who are always busy and occasionally looking for staff.

As steady a trade as any just now I’d think.

Blimey, it must be rough there, armed robbery at a butchers shop

Give 'em a chop and they'll take a leg.
