People buying my camper get in touch today. They're supposed to collect it on Saturday 25th but they can't arrange the bank transfer for the Saturday and they'd like to pay the day they collect. The bank will let them do two transfers though, can they do half on the Friday and the other half on the Monday after they've collected the van? Seriously!! Then, because they can't do the transfer on the day and don't want to do two transfers during the week, and because he works shifts they won't be able to collect until "July or later". I politely explained the van was back up for sale and I'll refund his deposit when it sells. The van is parked at the converters and he's asked for some stuff to be changed, I've told the converter not to do anything that can't be put back to where it was.

Staying with the old man for bit, my hearing aid batteries ran out. No probs, there's loads in the cupboard, I left them there at Christmas. Nope, not in the cupboards nor the drawers, so I ask dad where they could be. Turns out my cousin has aids which take the same size batteries, she'd been up and asked if there were a couple going spare and dad pointed her towards the cupboard. Rather than 2 batteries she took 2 boxes of batteries, that's 20 cards with 6 batteries per card. The old man was looking a bit sheepish, I think she asked if she could have the lot and he gave them to her. The fucking sneaky bitch knows they're mine and also knows if she went into town to buy them they're €7.50 a card.

My cousin lives next door to dad, it's not her house it belongs to an aunt who's in a care home. She works but can't manage her money and is always broke. I know she "borrowed" a fair amount from my aunt and has recently asked my dad for money. He told her no, but it's a worry as he gets older and more vulnerable. The next house along is her dad, my uncle. He's not shy of borrowing stuff and not returning it either.

Ohh I get it now. Though I'm not sure what safety gear would have helped, glasses don't go up that high and I couldn't wear a hard hat as I was lying on my back with very limited space !

My safety equipment in that situation is having someone else under the van instead of me

Might as well be, this is rural Ireland. My lot are fairly normal being just outside the town, get out into the bogs and it's a whole different story. There's some strange, strange people in the bogs, that's where Noggin's lot are from.

Bought discs and pads for 406 service. Of course the caliper is fecked. Of course it is. This always happens. But you never find out until everythings come out and you've wasted hours being frazzled, scrabbling about in the dust in the street

One day I will have an aircon workshop with a lift and I'll ponce about talking to myself like Edd China.

Rail strikes, despite being my industry

Got tickets for Red Hot Chilli Peppers at London Stadium (Stratford United ground) on the 25th but no trains and no tube so need to drive. All local parking unavailable so have to take a gamble on 1 of the 5000 spaces at Westfield, probably meaning getting there about 09.00. Bummer......
