It’s failed its noise test so I’ll use the Honda today. 104 with the baffle in and 105 without. Will be on eBay later looking for something quieter.

Ordered a standard can on Tuesday and it arrived yesterday so fitted it. I think that it looks a lot better and is substantially quieter...

Re: NBD - project green track bike
absolutely agree... our old P7F (07/08) came with a Yoshi on.... i had a standard bought 2 days later.
I don't get loud cans, especially on track bikes when it potentially restricts your ability to get out on track.

Yes, makes no sense to me at all. The best thing about the honda was that it was so quiet I never had any worries rocking up anywhere. Hopefully this will be the same.

Couldn't make much noise last night but from 4 feet at 3000rpm but noise meter was showing 101db for the old one and 90db for the new one with the valve disconnected and wide open.

Re: NBD - project green track bike
At Cadwell today.
With the standard exhaust it made 97db down 8db from the bean can that was on it.
The first session wasn’t brilliant as the bike kept misfiring big time. Turned the quick shifter off and that solved the problem so it was probably set too sensitive. Might have a play with it this afternoon but this bike definitely doesn’t need one.
The battery is knackered and I’m having to jump start it each session with it irritating but not a problem. Had it on a charger for a week before this so it needs replacing.
Other than that I love the bike. So much easier to ride than the Honda. All the big bikes fuck off early doors and then I don’t see anyone. Perfect. The power delivery is so smooth and confidence inspiring. Happy days.

Quite an up/down little report, but you seem really happy and that's brilliant in my book. Anything else is a bonus

Re: NBD - project green track bike
Just done the last session of the morning after adding a bit more preload at the front and I reckon that that session was one of the most enjoyable I’ve ever done on track. What a great little bike. Honestly regret struggling with a 1000 for so long, this is way more fun. This place completely freaked me out and knocked my confidence the other time I came here and today has been awesome.
The problems are easily fixable and I can’t believe how much bike I got for the money and considering the very first time I rode it was on a warm up lap of Cadwell. I’m very very happy indeed.

Re: NBD - project green track bike
The R6 before my mate fucked it was perfect for me. I'm not quick enough to justify anything more than a 600 and it allowed me to ride it hard-ish and feel like I was working the bike without scaring me.

Re: NBD - project green track bike
That’s exactly what it felt like yesterday. When I was being passed on the 1000 I felt like I shouldn’t be. When I rode this yesterday I could forget about all that concentrate on lines and get faster and it definitely felt like I was working the bike and, more importantly, me. Great fun.
Need to work out what to do with the Honda now.

There’s no way I can sell it. I think it’ll stay until I have time to put it back to road trim and do some light restoration in it.

Re: NBD - project green track bike
I'd often find in inters I'd pull in the 1000s on corner entry and esp exit, then as we straightened up they'd bugger off. This wasn't because I was a riding god but I think most of the people at the inter skill level are worried about high sides etc and 1000s feel intimidating so they were hold back on the throttle more whereas I was pinning the R6 at 10k+ revs screaming the tits off it with abandon and it felt great. I reckon I'd have been slower on a 1000 everywhere but the straights.dern wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 8:47 am That’s exactly what it felt like yesterday. Of course with faster/better riders that doesn't happen and they mash you on corners and straights on the big bikes but it was something I observed a lot when I was doing 7-8 trackdays a year.
