ZX6R or 675 Triumph ?

Rent a ZX6R or 675 Triumph per day, with full backup for £350 at Cartagena or Almeria. (Jerez hopefully)

I really wanna do some more trackdays, before the clock ticks too far. I wanna take mine, but the 36 hour ferry is a pain.

I'm a bit worried that after 22 years on GSXR1000s, I'll find the middleweights a bit bland .

I reckon you'll have a blast on either. I'd expect the ZX6R is a bit more spacious. Deffo has TC and slipper and ABS, i don't know what the 675 has.

In a very short space of time I've gone from thinking the GSX is mental everywhere. To commuting yesterday and thinking 'Tis a bit flat down low'. That's coming from a kids bike to a litre over 3 months/1000 miles.

I suspect you'll find the 600/675 flat as a witches tit. But having said that I reckon you could still have fun, it'll be a case of lots of revs and keeping it screaming. Plus they won't be crap just comparatively low in power. Might even be more interesting for a day or 2 adapting.

When me and @Couchy did the Haslam day 20 years ago on CBR600s, we just pinned the buggers everywhere

Had both for you I’d go ZX6R, leave abs and TC on minimum both work well on track

Middleweights are all bland and beneath someone of your level, you'll be bored shirtless and riding one will
definitely decrease your level of manliness

I absolutely hate my 600, even without electronics , albeit in fairness some of that is probably my fault as I added a quickshifter to it

I went to Almeria a few years ago and my 990 Superduke developed an oil leak in the first session. I hired a ZX6R and after being horrendously slow on the first session (I got bumped down to the slow group), I then got used to it and after a few sessions in slow I was bumped back up to inters. By the end of the second day I was passing everyone in Inters. That was my first experience of a sports bike.

All that said I would probably choose the Triumph as I like quirky bikes. You should choose the ZX6r as it's closer to what you are used to.
