He was unable to supply any of the original parts as he was going through a relationship break up.
I’ll just have to suck it up.
Re: MT time
I actually got round to tax and insure the MT a couple of weeks ago, initially feels big and heavy after riding the 790 duke for almost 4 years.
I found filtering in traffic awkward at first but now I’ve done a couple of hundred miles it now seems more natural, the exhaust decat with stock can is just plain stupid loud but this will hopefully be addressed this coming Tuesday as it’s having a seton exhaust with woolich flash and race tools.
Cruise control is fab never had that before on a bike before and as we all know she’s pretty thirsty.

Re: MT time
Seton is setting up the stock suspension when it’s with him I’m not sure if I’ll go mad and swap it out for expensive items when I get a bit more used to it,
I’ve possibly got a comfort seat coming if the guy gets back to me and there’s an sw motech tail bag on its way.
I’ll do a bit more of a report on what I’ve done after Tuesday when I get it home from Seton.

Will be good to see what he can do with your MT
Re: MT time
Well I’ve ridden it a bit more since the woolich flash and shifter blipper was fitted and tbh I think Hm quickshifters I’ve had on other bikes have been better the blipper is ok but everything seems as tho you’ve got to be in the zone lol, a little disappointed as I thought these were meant to be the dogs.
There’s a couple more things being done at the weekend like an adjustable clutch lever as the non adjustable stock item is too much of a reach and has caused me a couple of moments lol.
Honestly not sure if this will be with me very long with the physical size of it and constant fuel stops.
I went out on the 790 duke today and can honestly say it would be the one I keep if I had to choose between them.

Oh man, that's no exactly ideal, but if you're into it for the right money, you should hopefully get out ok.
It's ok to buy a bike and it not be 'right'. There's no rule that says that because you bought it you have to love it

Is the tank small on the MT,or is it just thirsty? Or both!Pgm wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 6:43 pm Well I’ve ridden it a bit more since the woolich flash and shifter blipper was fitted and tbh I think Hm quickshifters I’ve had on other bikes have been better the blipper is ok but everything seems as tho you’ve got to be in the zone lol, a little disappointed as I thought these were meant to be the dogs.

Re: MT time
Completely understand where you are coming from- my opinion FWIW is that you've been spoilt by the 790, seriously - it (and the 890) really are exceptional in terms of power/weight/size IMO, and just about the perfect combination of each for a road bike for me.Pgm wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 6:43 pm Well I’ve ridden it a bit more since the woolich flash and shifter blipper was fitted and tbh I think Hm quickshifters I’ve had on other bikes have been better the blipper is ok but everything seems as tho you’ve got to be in the zone lol, a little disappointed as I thought these were meant to be the dogs.

It was in fact the 790 that caused me to sell my MT10-SP, brilliant as that bike was, it just didn't really get used once I had the 790 .
The MT and 790/890 both have similar characters IMO engine wise ( wheelies! ) which makes them both so much fun, but the relative lack of weight for the amount of power that the 790/890 has is exceptional - if I could only have one bike, it would be a really tough decision , I'd definitely have another MT10, but having said that I've just done 40 or so miles on the 890 after not having ridden it for months , and I'd forgotten what fun it is
MT tank is not massive at 17 litres, probably similarish to other bikes in its class I guess, but they are definitely thirsty things, with low-mid 40 mpg being best you'll likely ever get, and 30s more typical if you ride them like they seem to make you (or made me anyway)- I was always the limiting factor on tours I did on mine with my (S1000R , Blade and ZX10 ) owning mates, but both my MTs got significantly better on fuel once that got past 5k miles- still not what you'd really call that great on fuel, but made 140-150 miles on a tank possible (up from 120ish tops)
My 790 on the otherhand, and this 890, have to be one of the most fuel efficient bikes out there for the power they make- this was my 790 on a trip up and around Wales, the north of England and the Highlands with said mates above- quite astounding I (and they) thought considering the pace- it's just as well it's good on fuel, as it really does have quite a small tank at only 14 litres.
