I think it’s fair to say that a good time was definitely had by all the RTTL-ers at Bedford yesterday- it started for me in meeting

@Dodgy knees D for the almost compulsory pre-trackday pints and dirty food PremierInn experience on Sunday evening, and a very enjoyable evening it was too.
I’d literally just got back from a little cross-channel jaunt on the Multi which very enjoyable as that was ( and will get a write up (with pictures!
) in my other thread over the next day or so) , the last 100 miles of the journey from the tunnel to home were in the pissing rain on the M26/M25/M40, and I was using the same lid and gloves so I made full use of the room facilities and my kit spent that night (almost) drying out on the towel rail
Monday morning came and it was a bit damp at the circuit which made the first couple of sessions a bit tentative, particularly when you’re working out which way the circuit goes, but it soon cleared and dried out and turned into a cracking day.
I was a bit concerned at the beginning as when I pulled the bike out of the van one of the fork seals was pissing oil, but I think it was just a bit of crap stuck in there somewhere as it sorted itself out within a few sessions and didn't affect my enjoyment.

It was the first time I’d been to Bedford, and although I’d heard mixed reviews and wasn’t expecting to like it too much, I now think it’s a great little circuit- admittedily it’s no Cadwell or Donington, but it is enough to be interesting and has what must be the longest back straight of any circuit in the UK- a fact that had completely passed me by leading up to the event and took me by surprise.
It’s long enough to get completely flat out in top on just about anything, I certainly did on the little green bike, and although the speedo is undoubtedly very optimistic, my little (still wobbly
) video will give you an idea of just how long the straight is- probably needless to say, but rest assured absolutely no lap records and very few apexes were troubled by me at any time yesterday
Overall another top day, and the bike was brilliant- I hadn't managed to swap the rear tyre since Lydden, but after putting another 5psi in the rear I suffered from none of the grip issues that I did there ( I'm a dickhead, but that's also another story..) and it was most excellent to see and spend some quality time with

@dern for the first time - I have to say, I think I’m enjoying trackdays more this year than I have for as long as I can remember, roll on Donington and catching up with more of the crew in a couple of weeks time
