Very kind offer. But don't think my GSXR1000 wheels will fit in my Husky TE300i.

My tongue was firmly in my cheek :(

Just fit a set of Trailwings on your existing 21/18 wheels, you're not going to need knobblies where the sun shines and the beer is cheap.

When you see the terrains, we do need knobblies :obscene-birdiedoublered:

I wouldn't have thought there would be much mud or deep sand, anything hard like rock you'd be better off with a slick.

Loads of deep sand. It's a desert island :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Not the most exciting purchase ever, but

I just figure stone blast on the engine round here will mean I end up with the front end completely chipped.
Most of the others were either full carbon things, or massive metal MX ones. There's a couple of half decent composite types, but none UK based and crazy money. So this will be on to keep things nice.

Did you try aliexpress?

I put R1200GS into the search and got several million results for bolt on plastic protectors.

No. It would take years to arrive and likely be crap. At least this is Austrian crap.

I wear 100% OTG goggles trail riding. No fogging issues, even in the rain on knackering lanes.

Don’t encourage him it’s a road bike, doesn’t need an off road helmet and goggles ffs

I wear an MX helmet and goggles on my 690 duke

The clocks are difficult to see and to get a proper look behind me I have to take one hand off the bars..... I may have got it wrong !

But if I had an SMC I couldn't bring myself to wear a full face helmet on it. It's like wearing brown corduroy trousers and a t-shirt that's slightly too small

I'll certainly be doing some back to back testing after Weds with the standard helmet and a MTB DH helmet with goggles. I'm certainly not against a MX style helmet as i'm down with the cool kids and it'd look ace.... but only if it works of course.
