Hi,and welcome to the forum,I bought a Gen 2 SV650S a few months ago,I use it as my hack bike,it's a great,fun bike on the back roads.
I found a video on YT where someone made a 'Cafe Racer' out of a Gen 1 bike,here's a couple of screenshots.

I'm an hour from Brisbane and about the same from the Gold Coast. I believe Perth has a very similar climate, never been to Perth it's 4500km from here. We love where we are it's bushy without being remote or barren.
Do you know my mate Dave? He lived in Brisbane :)
