Back caliper is the same as a Himalayan and it WILL seize up. They're a nice looking thing those wee scoots.

If it's anything to ride like a Burgman you'll have an absolute hoot on it.

Yep, BMW C400GT SE. It's very ghey as

a) it's a scooter and obviously very uncool to 'hardened' bikers
b) It's only 350cc and 35bhp
c) It has heated grips, heated seats and full connectivity with mobile phone etc so can make calls, use phone sat nav, listen to music streaming etc etc, all controllable through the scooter TFT screen, and using the toggle switch on the left handle bar.
d) Can just about manage 90mph

But, I've bought it to commute and to basically tit about on, I need to start slowing down and actually taking in stuff like the scenery, rather than it being a blur. So this is pretty perfect for that. I'm not sure how long it'll last, but I'm sure going to enjoy it while it's here. :D

T'was when I road tested the 650 one. Left Fastbird's shop and had to stop at Rykas so we could get off and crack up laughing.

Looks plush. Your good health to enjoy.

Seems to have decent sized wheels too. I really liked that aspect when I had my Honda SH300i,it rode more like a proper bike rather than shopping trolley wheels. Fun right up until the ground clearance runs out and even then it was a bit of a laugh.

You and TayPal can be in the same club now, with your very own hat. 8-)

Scoots are great. They introduced me to a whole new side of biking. When I have a Scoot, I'll jump on it and whizz into town whereas I'd never bother on the bike. They just make you grin from ear to ear when you're carving your way through traffic!

That's it - they're often just more practical as a form of transport, and because the handling is 'lesser' than a full-bore sportsbike, they feel more exciting at lower speeds.

They do need decent sized wheels though - 10" wheels are terrifying over about 35mph.

SH300 was a great scoot. Punchy little thing with bigger wheels and a demon for filtering on, but it looks like a 125! I shocked and pissed off many a big bike when I whizzed off through the traffic, getting through gaps they'd need twice the lock they had to follow! I took mine to over 80k miles with only a starter relay ever playing up and that was fixed with a cheap second hand one! :D

14" rear and 15" front on this one. Seems to handle well enough for a scooter. Nothing that's unsettled it yet anyway.

I'm currently on week 2 of an Advanced Bike course, it's actually quite nice to jump on the BMW at the end of the day, probably more smiles per miles than doing the really quick stuff. And the scooter has more bells and whistles/ tech than my job R1250RS (which i still love riding)

Saying that, I'm pretty much already pushing the scooter along nicely, pretty sure my 'slow' rides on it are going to get very much quicker :D

Is it full auto or does it have a manual (clutchless?) option?

Just the auto, well, it's a CVT transmission, no manual option. It's a proper scooter

I'm finding that I'm using this FAR more than my bike, admittedly the weather is great at the moment. It's great fun and loving bimbling around taking everything in. I'm happy just to move my car, get the scoot out of the garage and jump on and ride. It will more than keep up with the flow of traffic and if planned well, can dispatch the odd overtake or two.

Now i've linked it up to the bmw connected app, it gives me current road speed limits as well as being able to control my music and phone etc.

Reminds me of the reasons I started biking (I know, it's not a real bike), smiling constantly.
