I've posted many times before, typically 30-40 of these get driven into every year just on the English major roads.

Which all goes to prove that you cannot legislate for idiots. You just have to endure them.

People just seem to switch off when driving either through laziness or distraction inside the car.

I was riding to work yesterday morning and saw ahead a set of Traffic lights on red, 1 car on lane 1 sitting waiting and a line of traffic on lane 2 ,moving slowly up to the already stationary cars at the front of lane 2.

4 cars back in lane 2 a small white van suddenly swerves left into lane 1 and proceeds to continue without showing any brake lights towards the stationary car and red light. At the last second the brake lights come on, he swerves right, impacts the rear right of the car in lane 1, hits the front of the car next to him in lane 2 and runs into the back of the lead car in lane 2. Carnage

All stationary cars had brake lights on and traffic lights clearly on red

On the way home on a completely empty dual carriageway with a 4 foot concrete divider between the carriageways i am in lane 1 ahead see a car in lane 2 (not overtaking just in the wrong lane as usual) casually drifts across lane 2 all the way into the concrete divider and bounces back into the lane after sparks fly and continues along the road, still in the wrong lane

I do wish that manufacturers would fit parking brakes
