She's worried the T140 will be too fast in comparison :)

If I got a 1978 one it would fill the requirements for a bike from my year of birth.
Do it.

I spent the day in Meribel - in the least friendly bar I've ever been in!! LOL I know, I know, it's the end of the season, they are tired, it was a sunny day and they were working. But bloody hell the staff were unfriendly to the point of unpleasant!!! No wonder one of the friends I told that I'd be there said she'd drive up to my resort to see me rather than go there!! One friend that skied over from another 3 valleys area was sat with us for 40 minutes and I couldn't get anyones attention to get her a coffee!! (She wasn't really that bothered, and I didn't want to do up my leg brace and use the crutches to go to the bar, but I've honestly never been so studiously ignored in a bar/cafe/pub!!!)
Saved me a fortune as I didn't get the hot chocolates I probably would have if they'd have come and even just asked if I'd like another drink :banana-dance:

Got home in time to watch the MotoGP - I can't remember the last time I saw a whole motogp - and I doubt I've ever sat and watched one without getting distracted by something. But, needed my glasses to see the writing on the screen, so that meant I couldn't use my phone or do anything else!

Sooo apart from not understand 100% of the French commentary, it was blooming aces. Funniest was the end when in one interview a rider (can't remember who) said in English "so I just pushed like a bastard". The French commentator had been translating back to french and as this was said, the commentator laughed and the translation was "I pushed very very hard"

Shows how long it is since I've watched a live race - some serious heart in mouth moments on some overtakes

9am Holy Communion and 10am Palm Sunday Procession and Baptism this morning. Was a beautiful bright clear and the child being Baptised fell asleep straight after! I did something right! Met another family for Baptism and then off to home for sandwich for lunch. Back to Church for two others services 4pm and to celebrate 6.30pm HC at my home Church followed by prayers for Ukraine. So that is 5 services in one day. Home to eat, catch up on race news and then think about a beer and bed!

One of the nice things about family is you've got decades of history to talk and laugh about, and I'm lucky enough at the moment that all five of us live in the same town so we can get together often. When the boy goes off to the army and me and the Mrs move back to the UK then I'll miss days like that.
Yep, make the most of it. It is hard when they all leave, takes some readjustment. And, after that, getting them all together in the same place at the same time with you is maddening.

I find it helps to act feeble occasionally. They soon come running if they think you're going to drop dead.

Came home to find a car parked on our front drive and its not ours or anyone we know. All the neighbours have room on their drives, so its not one of them and thye'd ask anyway. Contacted Plod as its a keyless Fiesta thing and they get nicked a lot, but it's not been reported stolen (yet?) and is registered to someone in the next town.

There's an app now where you can rent out parking spaces to whomever wants them, including your own drive. It's popular in that London, as you might expect. I came across it when I was googling parking in Kew gardens.

Maybe someone just got the wrong house?

Changed a tap valve. Changed the valve in the shower a while ago. Ditto the sink mixer-tap cold valve in the shower room because that was dripping too. (I assumed it was the cold supply that was dripping being higher pressure...but, naturally, later realised the hot water supply is mains pressure too...because it continued to drip).

I now know why tap valves come in pairs. One with a red seal and one with a blue. When I did the cold tap I used the first one out of the pack, which was red, but they look identical otherwise. Meh, think I, no-one is going to see it for a year or two.

Did you know that one colour opens in one direction, one in the other so that you pull both tap handles in the same direction to open them, not one forward, one back? Mine now both open in the same direction...backwards (I had two packs of valves). (Which is fine as I'm not OCD - otherwise I'd swap them round :D ).

(I mowed the front verge and lawn too...I am a hive of industry :1 )

PS @Taipan - what happened with the mystery car?

Made ginger cake and brownies. If I have the oomf, I should make bakewell tarts!! Have the pastry, jam and topping, just need to actually do it! LOL

Went for coffee with a friend

Saw the nurse. Didn't get an email from the doctor or the rehab centre. Phone call to be made tomorrow

Think the bakewell tarts are going to have to wait! LOL I think I am going to crash out! LOL

Facebook appeal to find the owner in case it was stolen, worked out. Turns out the owner was at his Uncles wake at the bottom of the road. They said they didn't know it was a private road and thought the drives across the front of the properties were okay to park in. No big deal, just glad it wasn't a stolen car.
