It would've been a 790 due to cost. But a late model 790 isn't as cheap as I'd like.

The mt07 is brilliant, but some bits are proper fiddly and cheap and yukky. But what can you expect for the money.

The ride on the 890 last week was brilliant, but it's not cheap and with motorbikes being arguably 2nd best in my life these days, throwing £2500-3000 in would just be daft.

As long as I concentrate on how the bike rides, the mt07 is awesome. It's only when I get the spanners out I start to frown.

I can't fault how it rides... it's a fab bike.... but it's more Lada Riva than it is Porsche 911.

I've never had a bike that I've been 100% happy with, fizzy aside. Tbh, I think the 2018 Tracer 900 was close, QS and a nice colour and it might have stayed a bit longer, perhaps.

Is that a problem, I'd get bored with a 70ish bhp road bike within a few months, weirdly I think it's a nice amount of power for a track bike, you have to thrash it to make progress.

Not to many / most it's not, but yes it's a problem to me. I get my kicks at sub 100mph. Have for many years.
I enjoy making it work, making it rev and pushing at times. But even the MT07 itself you can't push THAT hard as it's not slow.
Boredom doesn't begin to come into it.

As a B road bike its effin amazing! It's like a SV650 on steroids. The CP2 engine fuels really well and it pulls from idle and will loft the front wheel easily off the throttle in the first few gears. Boring it ain't! No wonder the journos love them!

If anything lets it down its the suspension, particularly the front end, but then I'm heavy. If I'd have kept mine I think i'd have thrown a few quid at the suspension and that would have made it near on perfect for me. But then I could count on one hand the number of times I've gone into 3 figures in the last ten years. That ain't where I find my fun, although I went the fastest I've ever been on a bike on in over 30 years on the MT...

It's the lazy grunt of bigger capacity bikes that I've always loved. On my Zed,coming out of a 30mph limit in 6th I just need to roll on the throttle and it pulls like a tractor from nowhere. A lazy man's bike.

Wasn't exactly a big ride, but was dry and sunny and i had half an hour to kill... well techincally i had 4 hours if i wanted, but who wants to ride for 4 hours lol.
Just gone past 700 miles now and the bike is every bit as good as i want it to be. Lovely little ride on it.
