Buy cheap, buy twice.

Wifey likes to look after her pennies, today's pay twice is the launderette. I dropped her off then went to park the van, get back and rather than choose the 5 euro machine which includes all the washing powder etc, she's watching the stuff go round in the 4 euro option. Even with my limited Spanish the pictures of dogs and cats with pet zone written on the machine was a bit of a give away. So having now rinsed everything in the pet machine (no washing stuff included with this one) we've spent 5 euros on the correct wash.

Damn twat of a fire technician

We have a gas fire in the SC chalet, nice looking thing, looks almost like a real fire. I've just replaced both gas bottles but can't get the thing to work.

After some tooing and fro-ing I finally get to talk to the technician today, man what a effing prick

Prick Statement number 1

"If you are going to work in a chalet you should know how to operate the fire".;- Yeah right because "gas fire engineer" is in my job description

Prick statement number 2

"My technicians came there in January and showed everybody how to operate the fire".;- Your technicians did come in January, they spent 90% of the time on the phone getting advice because they didn't know what they were doing. They didn't show me ANYTHING about the fire, they may have shown the guests something, but they are guests and have no desire or need to know how to change the gas bottles.

Prick statement number 3
You need to reset the fire.;- OK how do I do that;- "you should know how the fire works"

Prick statement number 4
If you want instructions you should write to me;- OK what's your email address? He then says goodbye and hangs up.

Fire Technician? Just the same as 'Heating Engineer', what a load of bollox, any I've met couldn't even scrape through City and Guilds, let alone more technical qualifications. Mind you, everyone's got a 'degree' now - what a load of shite!

People. Ok, not everyone!! But since the lockdowns and isolations, people in general have become seriously selfish and even less aware of their surroundings

I probably noticed before being on crutches, but put it down to my lack of tolerance!!

But, since being on crutches, the 'mememe', 'I'm more important than yous' and 'I have to concentrate on ME' attitudes of the general public is seriously fucking me off!!

The main instances are when I'm walking around the small bit of resort I can get to that isn't covered in snow! I'm not quick. And I stop regularly. But people actually push past someone on crutches :o WTAF???

If I could walk properly, I wouldn't be on crutches.
If I could weight bear on my bad leg, I wouldn't be on crutches

WTF would you push past someone with mobility issues?

In the past I've waited quietly behind someone on crutches or in a chair just so I don't push past, to avoid worrying them or making them stress. It 'costs' me maybe 10 seconds, maybe 20. But surely that isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things?

I've had a few moments when people have rushed past me and made me wobble - partly cos I'm a newby to this crutch walking thing, but also because they surprised me!

And don't get me started on people watching me trying to open swing doors!!! LOL Even more of a challenge with a fucked up shoulder!! LOL   Soooo many people just watch cos, I guess, it's my issue, not theirs!!

I really don't like humans in general :( :( Some are amazing, but the general public, and especially those on holiday, are not particularly nice :(

Walking may do, but remember that I got taught to be ambidextrous - can throw pretty well with my left hand (even played darts left handed) so all I need is something to throw and walking might not be fast enough!! LOL

My wife could write with either hand. Been a few years now so probably useless but still swaps hands when in the kitchen using knifes.

BBC TV Licencing. I cancelled my licence last year following the correct procedure and I even got a small rebate. I received an email from them yesterday saying "We've authorised a visit to your address. Dear Miss Trinity, you are now breaking the law if you watch TV at <my address>" and then a big red electronic "VISIT AUTHROSED" stamp.

I phoned them. They apologised.

I have a feeling that if they did visit I would be under no obligation to open the door or talk to them, least of all let them in to see that I do not have a TV (not that I'm there).

I've since been told that I need to reset the whole thing by "unplugging it and plugging it back in" but I'll be damned if I can find out where it's plugged in "that's OK" says the architect, just turn it off on the fuse board..... none of the fuses are labelled as being for the fire ...give me strength...

The Envy Of The World™

Three weeks ago I had a prostate biopsy. I was expecting to hear the result after about 10 days to two weeks. So when I hadn't heard anything by Monday this week I tried phoning. After navigating the answerphone menu I phoned the appropriate number: "This mailbox is full".
Tried again on Tuesday: "Leave your name and number and I'll call you back" She didn't.
Wednesday: "Leave your name and number and I'll call you back" She didn't.
Today: "Leave your name and number and I'll call you back" She didn't. I called the hospital switchboard and eventually got to speak to somebody.

A private company with this level of customer service would go out of business. Instead we're going to throw even more money at it. :angry-cussingblack:
