F***ing energy companies.
Just received a nice letter from British Gas explaining that the cost of my leccy bill is going up.
Yes, I do understand why it has to, but they have not only increased he rate per kWh (which I understand and accept), but they have also taken the chance to increase the Standing Charge from 30p per day to 57p per day!
Bloody greedy bastards!

BG/Centrica don't either. They haven't paid a dividend since 2020 and the shares have bombed. Looks like a lot of customers went to the superduper new market entrants. Oh...they've bombed as well.Rockburner wrote: ↑Wed Mar 02, 2022 3:59 pmShareholders don't pay themselves you know.....Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Wed Mar 02, 2022 3:01 pm F***ing energy companies.

Ha. Its out for delivery. At my end or the buyers is anyone's guess but i managed to get the CEO's, Martijn De Lange email address and kicked up fuck. He passed it on to his secretary but it seems to have worked as it was sitting in a warehouse with no update for almost two days then like magic late this afternoon it was updated to out for delivery.David wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 8:28 pmExpect your parcel to get returned to you in about 6 weeks.Felix wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 7:30 pm Hermes. OK this is not there fault to the main issue but they are still boiling my piss regardless. You cant talk to anyone to find where your parcel is. Live chat is automated and teh phone option also what kicks you off as it cant recognise the tracking number you are trying to tell it. Ebay are just as shit but with them i pretend i am deaf and you still get an email option.
Anyway my parcel i sent never got delivered. Apparently courier was there but could not deliver it and its getting sent back to me. Sunday there was no change to the tracking online and half today. When it did change i wanted to know where it was getting sent as it never says so spend two hours going round and round. Contacted buyer again to show him the picture of the alleged delivery attempt and i get Oops. Silly git forgot to update his address with ebay when he moved house so at least we know what is happening with the parcel now but its still shit show for Hemese. First time i have had a problem with them but it will also be the last. Back to using the PO from now on.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
My two year fix was due to end in April. In January I got an estimate from EDF telling me how much my bill would be if I was on the price cap. I found a two year fix that was about 40% more so knowing the 50% (ish) rise in the price cap was coming, plus another 20% to 30% next time, I cancelled EDF and took the two year fix with SSE. I think that was the right decision. I've lost a couple of months at the cheaper, two year old price, but with any luck I'll save in the long run.
And if the world comes to its senses and energy prices go down I should be able to switch to a lower fixed price deal.

Wifey's brother, sister and sis in law have come out to see us in Spain for a few days. Her brother and his wife are teetotal vegans who like to eat early, restaurants typically open at 8pm and good luck with finding a vegan one. They all set off at 6pm, I did offer to make them a salad but they declined. They've just gone back to the villa they've rented with some salad from the supermarket.
Wifey is fairly fussy these days too, no alcohol or meat but she will eat fish.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
I'm a bit grumpy right now. It's almost 5am and I'm awake. Not just a bit awake, proper awake. I've spent the last two hours trying to be asleep but there has been a ridiculous number of cars and people milling around outside.
I know I don't normally sleep by the window, but even from the bed I'm sure I'd notice if there was this many cars. The people, well people don't realise I guess (alcohol probably helps) that if a group of you stand outside an apartment block and chat loudly in the early hours, people will be able to hear
Neither of those are helped by the fact that I sleep with my window open. This is normal though and not just because I am sleeping on the sofa which means I'm sleeping right by the radiator (currently on the lowest possible setting!
Spent approx 2 hours trying really hard to be asleep and then started to realise I was bloody starving. Since I wasn't asleep I ended up working out what I had eaten yesterday and so have just got up, made a cup of tea (decaf) and reheated some left over pizza!! Hopefully if I no longer feel hungry, I might actually manage a snooze before the usual mad noise level of transfer day starts.
Guessing I'll have to spend a bit of time snoozing tomorrow - although if I can stay awake, I might actually sleep quite well tomorrow
Haven't really slept well since I got home. Not terribly, but not normally - guessing that, between different drugs for pain control, randomly weird sensations in my leg/knee, not sleeping in bed, a fair amount of stress connected with work, finance etc due to the current injury, I was never going to float of to sleepland with no issues for the first 'while' of being home For some reason my tinnitus seems worse the last two days, although I suppose all the reasons I've listed for sleep issues probably don't help
Hey ho. Food eaten, tea about to be finished - here's hoping I get back to sleep for a few hours

As for people standing outside chatting, we can't have our bedroom windows open in the summer as it faces the nice quiet narrow road, parallel to a much wider main route. Hardly a car passes during the night but unfortunately the scummers en-route to chavsville stagger up our road in the early hours once 'spoons has kicked out and they've picked up their rat in the box from the kebab house!
