New Bike Day.... the powder blue girls bike

After sitting, thinking, listening, reading and deciding, i thought "well, the stuff i'm riding, i can/should be fine on something less massive than the big blue bouncy G170.
So my thoughts went up, down, round about, i then thought, what's going to 'help' me.
Stability is one thing, 29er wheels, so everyone tells me are faster, then lighter weight.
With the G170 coming in at nearly 17kg that's a big burly bike and the Trek coming in at 13.5kg (lighter when tubeless), it's about as light as you're going to get within a sensible budget.
I'm both scared and excited in equal amounts.

That looks lovely that
I'm yet to be sold on 2.6" tyres for anything other than bone dry stuff though as I'm finding I end up skating about on top of muddy stuff rather than cutting through, 29 x 2.4 is my sweet spot for most things - 2.6 is nicer for rocky stuff though. If it's sloppy 2.25's seem to cut through OK without losing too much of the cushioning.
I'm not a fan of press-fit BB's either - hope your experience isn't as crap as mine has been

Pulled that idea due to reading some reports on how that particular bike rode and it was a bit challenging in some ways.

That's lovely! Like really properly lovely.
My ghost had a pressfit and once I'd binned the crappy Shimano BB for a race Face BB all was good with the added advantage that the bearings in the RF BB are replaceable without having to replace the entire shell.

The Miami green is a wicked colour, same as my CX bike.
With the press fit BB, I'd suggest looking to see what Wheels Manufacturing do that's compatible. I've got one of their screw together press fit conversions in my CX bike and one in my commuter, they've both been absolutely faultless. Not cheap but worth every penny.

Lol it's such a small aspect of the bike it's not worth worrying about
The lad had his replaced 9 months ago and it's smooth as silk still. If I get 9 months I'll be happy enough

I wasn't going to use the Bontrager XR3 so i went with a set of DHRs. They're on their way and may even be here before the bike... i don't have a clue when that's coming yet.
