Cats are heat seeking missiles. They can also seriously shorten the life of hi-fi components by blocking ventilation. The shelf above has since been lowered to avoid this...

Well Mr Bat has been released. Ill find out later if successfully but we were told by the bat people to hang a T cloth from a tree and let him hook onto it at dusk. Ill check to see if he is gone when i let the dog out later but he was still full of life, squeaking and walking/crawling round the cloth so fingers crossed

Abyssinian; well, technically an Abyssinian/Somali cross but as Somalis are essentially long haired Abys, we just say he's an Aby.David wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 8:13 pmHe looks good..Burmese?mangocrazy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 6:21 pm Cats are heat seeking missiles. Re: Have we got a 'Show us your pets' thread?
Well it never went all that good. Bat was still in same spot last night when i took the dog out but moved from cloth to a branch so i left him. This morning he i still there but cold and lethargic so he is back in his box on a warm heat pad with some water. Wife just off the phone to mad bat people who are about 15 miles away picking up a dog and will come out and take it away to the bat hospital. TBF last night was not the warmest and there was not the usual bat activity so probably picked the wrong night.Felix wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 11:17 pm Well Mr Bat has been released. Re: Have we got a 'Show us your pets' thread?
Not a lot more we can do for him TBH but we try and help all animals round here. Trying to get help for Deer is crap. SSPCA were not interested in coming out for one with a bad limp and there were no mad Deer groups in the area. Local council wardens for the marsh are not vet trained but TBF they did come out for a look. No sign of blood or a broken bone so it was decided to leave it but keep an aye out for him. We watched it about the area for a few days where the limp was starting to go so presumed it was just a strain but yes. Very disappointed in the SSPCA attitude. They are quite happy to go out and visit home when they get malicious calls about ill treated pets though even after probably the 10th call about different animal/houses in the same street.

Re: Have we got a 'Show us your pets' thread?
I found a little pipistrelle bat and took it home. Phoned some sort of national Bat line and they told me Bats have to drop into flight and to put him up high somewhere, which I tried but he couldn't grip anything and just fell. Rang Bat people back and they dispatched Batman who turned up in a Ford Probe which had Batman decals all over it! He took said Bat away and asked if I wanted email updates and I said yes. Bat didn't make it. Interestingly enough, they told me never to handle bats without gloves on as they can carry rabies!

Do I detect a certain hi-fi tangent to this thread? Owned both Naim and Nad, but can't find a way to shoehorn in Hafler (my favourite amp(s)).
