NBT- Another Kawasaki

Post by Bigyin »

Even though i did put down the deposit it wasnt me who bought it ;)

After passing his bike test a few weeks ago the eldest stepson Jacob has been looking about for a bike and finally decided upon this one found locally despite looking all over the country (thanks weeksy for the wasted trip to look at one he was interested in that turned out to be sold after he enquired about it)

After a lot of thinking he upped his budget a bit and ended up with a 1000 miles on the clock ZX636R in black on a 20 plate at the local Kawasaki/Ducati dealership where my 2 Multistradas came from so they will look after him if there are any issues with the bike which i doubt and they also gave him a 12 month warranty instead of the usual 3 month you get for most second hand bike dealers.

New leathers just bought and took him over on the Multi yesterday to pick it up despite the salt on the road and 6 degrees in temperature.

He hates a photo being taken hence eyes shut etc

As its the only big bike he has ridden apart from the 600 Bandit he rode for his tests when he picked it up he knocked the power down to low and upped the TC/ABS till gets used to the completely different feel.

As soon as it was at mine (as he hasnt got anywhere to store it yet) it was washed down to remove all possible salt and wont see light of day till all the salt has gone

Lot of bike for a new rider, luck git. I got upgraded to a 125 when I passed my test.

TBH, I thought they stopped making the ZX6 years ago.

Its a warm weather toy for him and his reward to himself for working his arse off to establish his self employed business over the last couple of years

This 2020 is the last one they made ZX636R-GLF model designation with TC/ABS and switchable power modes before switching to the inline twin 650 engine with about 80 BHP instead of the 120 of the inline 4 ;)

Nice motor, looks sweet.

Like KFB I still had a 125 for a year after my test. I upgraded from a KH100 to a TZR125

I bought a 250LC for £600 after passing my test, a month later I stuffed it into a Ford Granada and bent the forks.

I was riding a 900 Z1 on R plates. (N.I. restricted plates limited to 45mph)

My crashes got faster.

I passed my test, broke my back (nothing to do with bikes!!) then couldn't afford a bike for a few years after 6 months off work

Bought a ZZR600 - kept that 6 months, then got a CBR1100xx!!!

I haven't ridden a 125 since my CBT/DAS!! Had a 175 for a few weeks before the ZZR but couldn't manage the kickstart - was too soon after the back break!

I kinda feel like I missed out with not 'growing up/learning' on little bikes!!
