I usually kick it down the side of her car but unbelievably she still leaves it there even though she struggles to get into her car round it.
Yes, I have asked her not to do it, she has ignored me. She is also a drain on the economy, not working, has 3 other people in the house quite capable of picking the thing up yet none of them do!!

We have a fat arses hole a few blocks up who puts her recycle tubs out with no lid and if blowing a hooley it still puts them out. By the time the morning comes tubs are blowing down the street hitting the cars as it travels and there shit all over the shop. I have a lane at the side of the house what i cut a bit of fence away to allow better access for the bike. Wind can swirl here and i ended up with her shit in my garden. Last year i got her tub and picked it all up, took it up the road to her garden and threw it all on. That seemed to have worked. Still no lids but its never out if its windy.Taipan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 6:30 pmThat would BMP too. I read that one in three people are shitty neighbours. I'm lucky, both my neighbours are really nice.

Mouldy jam.
I'm pretty sure that years ago opened jars of jam lasted months, perhaps even years in the cupboard. These days it seems that if you don't eat it within a week it goes mouldy Did the EU ban a particular, critical E number? If so, can we have it back now?
I've just thrown away nearly a whole jar of my favourite conserve, Bonne Maman Black Cherry, that I only opened a couple of weeks ago. It's not unique to that brand, it happens whatever jam I buy. The amount of jam I throw away these days would make buying individual servings more economic.
I'm inclined to treat myself to these as I get excited about miniatures anyway. I'll squirrel them away somewhere and then I can have jam whenever I want!!!

In the interest of maintaining a clean and safe environment for you and the other residents, next time, put it in your landfill bin and cover it with whatever is your dirtiest waste. If she finds it and takes it back, she'll get a bit mucky doing so.636mick wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 3:53 pm Lazy stupid inconsiderate neighbours. Never used to have to refrigerate jam and when I do, it still goes mouldy - just not as quickly.slowsider wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 9:11 amMost of them say to refrigerate after opening.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 8:08 am Mouldy jam.

Wait until it has a good crust of mould, then peel it off...it'll be fine underneath.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 9:14 amNever used to have to refrigerate jam and when I do, it still goes mouldy - just not as quickly.slowsider wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 9:11 amMost of them say to refrigerate after opening.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 8:08 am Mouldy jam.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Traditional British jams lasted a long time because of their high sugar content which acts as a preservative. Conserves generally were made in other countries and used less sugar and therefore a higher percentage of fruit. Unopened, jams, preserves and conserves will last for years but after opening they will get contaminated. The manufacturers often provide guidance on where and for how long to store them. I keep mine in the fridge. It's also possible the freeze small portions in ice cube trays for transfer into freezer bags. Then they can be individually defrosted a little time before being wanted.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 8:08 am Mouldy jam.

I'm pretty sure that in the 70s/80s opened jars of jam and conserve lasted longer in the cupboard. Maybe houses were cooler. Maybe there was less mould about. Maybe there was more sugar in it. I don't know but I seem to be throwing a lot of it out. The British Jam Conspiracy

Done. Now in a recycling bin covered with my rubbish. She will now request another from the local authorities who will charge her. The price of vacuum cleaners is BMP right now! After wasting money on a Dyson Animal Sv a few years back, which mainly gets ignored in favour of a £40 cylinder, the wife now wants a new "decent" vacuum cleaner. Her searching has led her to the Shark brand and she wants the cordless upright one. I said you always moan about uprights and you should get a cylinder job and she should try them as its an expensive mistake if you get it wrong. I wish I'd kept my gob shut as now i've got to take her to a shop where she can see them and try pushing them about etc. Okay, its probably better than buying the wrong one, but I hate shopping for domestic goods.

It wont end well, cos I'll end up criticising designs and price and then we'll get into the inevitable, "you don't even use it and why is it my job anyway and if it was for your bike you'd pay it" arguments for sure!Yorick wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 11:34 amRock n Roll in ShandylandTaipan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 11:21 am The price of vacuum cleaners is BMP right now! My old mate Beedubya told me that his wife dealt with all the easy stuff - shopping, cooking, cleaning - leaving him to worry about weighty matters such as world peace, famine, etc.
