Got my wire pointing further down than that, not a lot though. Just make sure you have free movement on throttle and clutch, before glue. 👍

They are criticised as is the mt09 too? Apparently you can swap the switchgear with a YZFR 125 which has a more conventional layout? Dunno if I'll bother but it, I'm fed up with indicating angrily meandering at pedestrians and cyclists!

I ran the bike with the o2 eliminator fitted and I think you can feel the pick up from idle is ever so slightly better and it'll run a small throttle opening to higher revs, so it does appear to fatten up the closed loop? Somethings changed as it certainly appears to have dropped a good few miles to the gallon! Expensive sorcery, but it probably coincides with me listening to higher revs through the exhaust too?! :D

On that note, I'm mega pleased with the exhaust. DB killer is out and that gives it a nice sound, but its never going to offend anyone or attract Plod! Perfick!

It is so nice when it is nice to ride and you enjoy the sound/feel/look etc... As much as I enjoyed the K1200R, the Speed Triple just ticks more boxes for me. But it still needs more work. Good economy either way with your new found enjoyment!!

You're going to hate this but its still wrong

The wire should be pointing straight down so its out of the way, hence the little arrow on the wire ;)

Straight down and the clutch wouldn't pull in and you wouldn't be able to see the word "Oxford"?

Agree on clutch, I had to move mine a little bit at first fitting.

If you angle it back a tad,you should have enough clearance for the clutch lever. Mine isn't exactly straight up and down, but angled back slightly towards the rider. The lever just touches the grip, but doesn't interfere

Your NCX was a DCT so the left hand switch gear made sense. On the manual version without the DCT switches the horn and the indicators were the opposite way round to 99% of other bikes, I found it very frustrating.

Unfortunately I don’t have the bike here to take a snap as it’s at the work unit …… I don’t have any issue with clutch clearance but I’ll check the position. I am fairly certain the throttle grip is straight down

They're serving a purpose at the moment, so I'm not that bothered, but come summer, I'm not going to like that 80s MX throttle look of the long wire, so will probably change the for ones with an integrated controller and a tidier look overall.

Like i'll still have it next winter!

Took the back roads tonight and caned it! Nearly stacked it a few times as I over cooked it and just generally rode like a twat! But, Man that engine just pulls and pulls with every gear change and the sound of it through the SC project exhaust is just glorious!

Yesterday I used the NC700X to commute into work on And had to admit, I kinda missed its lazy way of riding with the DCT box sleepily carrying me through London’s traffic. I had to acknowledge the merits of such a bike for commuting.

On the downside it felt bloody huge, like I was on a GS or something. With my dodgy knee it was back to pushing it to the kerb to get on it, but I did enjoy riding the old bus.

This morning I used the MT. Fuck the NC700X! 🤣

The seat cowl almost looks ok with the high seat on.
