TBh I've only really commuted in heavy traffic on it, but so far I'm still impressed. Surprisingly economical and comfortable. I really thought i'd be too cramped on it, but it seems to fit me okay? Compared to my other bikes it feels like a moped lol, well weight wise anyway. Engine is a peach. Linear torque from idle, proper punchy mid range. The pointandsquirtability is 10/10!

Happy days, kind of! Belly pan needs trimming as exhaust headers stick out slightly further than the OEM ones. I’ll get the Dremel on that later as for me it looks odd without it.
Test ride was with the db killer in and I can now hear it but it’s not that much louder than oem. I’ll try it without the db killer at some point but I’m quite happy with it now.
My concerns about the higher seat were misplaced. It’s a big improvement for me and pushing the bars forward is more comfortable.
I’m a happy chappy!

I rode the bike into work today, which is always the litmus test for things as its how I use a bike. I note the following
- The seat is very firm and will need getting used to/breaking in, but I prefer the height of it for sure.
The exhaust has nice growl/burble to it when filtering between cars, but it is almost too quiet! I'll deffo try it with the baffles out.
Tipping the bars forward a tad put the switchgear at a slightly odd angle and the mirror posts look odd for leaning forward slightly, iyswim? I'll either get used to it or pissed off by it. I suspect the latter!
The back of the bike look much tidier for an 8x6 plate and the pillion pegs removed.
I need to get the belly pan fitted asap as it looks like something has fallen off without it!

I think it's like comparing an XT660X and a Duke 690, they should be similar but make their power in a completely different way.
The SV is a lower rpm range for making it's torque and feels more conventional 'twin' whereas the MT07 is smoother and revvier.

I was debating how easy it'd be to trim the metal brackets on mine and make them black. the odds of me being arsed enough to do that though, are very small.

You'll be painting it soon. I hear lots of folk on a FB Zed forum yapping about it. Evotech seem to be the popular choice. I know their rad guard is top notch.

I used to colour in the chips on the wheels of my Fireblade with permanent marker.

Aye, agree with you on that, Evotech is good kit, shame about the cut style on this one though- the R&G one looks better fitted, but they are indeed the other end of the spectrum in terms of quality, very poorly finished - they have also looked far too streetfighter on nearly every other bike I've seen, in fact I've still got the ones for my old ZX10 and 1199 in the garage- took them straight off for exactly this reason.
I went with the Yam one for my MT10s, it kept half of the original hanger and was sort of a halfway house and the best looking of the after-market ones IMO
