It's debatable whether BSA made better bikes or guns.

Better of course, is relative. Shite bikes, shite guns but better bikes or better guns?

Better guns, I think. :D
I can attest to the shitefullness of their bikes. Never had a BSA gun, so can't comment.

I do sometimes wonder about tourists. Years ago my sister said that she thought most tourists put their brain safely in a box and leave it on a high shelf in their kitchen!! Sometimes I agree, other times I think they are just fcking ignorant!!

By the time I drove home early evening, there was a lot of traffic coming down the mountain. There is a roundabout at the bottom of the mountain at a little village. Tourists leaving will all go left at the roundabout because that is the way to get out of the valley and onto the motorway. A few were joining the queue of traffic on the roundabout (having ignored the sign on the back road that they shouldn't go that way to get to the motorway!!)

When I got to the roundabout to go up to get home, there was one car in front of me. They weren't being bolshy enough and so no one was letting them into the queue. Eventually, they moved out a bit and after a few more cars not letting them in, they got in the queue - this left me at the roundabout, but I didn't want to join the queue, I was indicating to go UP where everyone else was coming down. Despite indicating clearly and even pointing with my hand that I wanted to go across the queue not into it, it took ten minutes of cars getting as close to the back of the one in front to prevent me getting across. What total fuckwiths

Second thing - 2/3 of the way up, there is a village that people driving down have to turn across the up traffic to get to. I was in a long queue of traffic going up (not as much as going down tho!!) and would anyone slow down (on a flat bit of road) to allow the car to turn across??? Would they fck :angry-cussingblack: I mean seriously, you 'lose' maybe 10 seconds? 20?? WTAF!!!!

I slowed and let the car cross and then did the same for a minibus at the next resort.

But honestly? Tourists shouldn't be allowed to drive to holiday resorts!!!  :obscene-birdiedoublered:

You know the fact they're tourist likely means they don't live there or drive in said conditions, like ever, ever.

Mates. Bloody bastid mates :(

I'm doing dry January as always. Was a late start after the bust finger malarky, but I've lost 10 pounds in the 13 days so far. The first 5 pounds always fall off quick coz it's the Xmas shite.

Anyway. Just having a quiet water (me) and coke (her) in town tonight as it's always fun.

Then one of me best pals turned up as a surprise and got me pissed :D

It's his birthday Wednesday and wants a BBQ here at the villa. Fuck goes my dry month ;)

So I'll do February instead. It's been delayed in previous years, but I've ALWAYS managed to lose the stone target.

pop over if you are free on Wednesday :)

Found it! I should have looked up as i'd tucked it in the rafters,d'oh! Sadly it has no hooks in! :? I've ordered new ones which will be here tomorrow though. Also on the plus side, I found a front paddock stand that goes under the steering head thing. I'd forgotten I'd even bought that as I only used it once and that was some years back! The shed is turning into the same gold mine that the loft of many gifts is! :D
FFS, new hooks turned dup but the stand is too narrow for the bike???? It isn't wide enough to go past the rear axle! :wtf: Must have bought it for a small bike. I'll have to buy a new one now!

It's not that your paddock stand is narrow, the setup on the mt07 is wide.

Mine is as wide as it'll go and then needs a little persuading to go wider.

I didn't realise it was so wide. I wrongly assumed the back tyre would be a 160!. Looks very chunky and nice, especially with the 8x6 number plate! 8-)

Silly linguistic fashions.

'Whilst'

Just stoppeth it. Verily and forsooth it iseth another affectation* and not-eth an indication of eruditeness. It smacketh of 'council house intellectualism'.

Don't get me started on 'different to' or *shudder* even worse, 'different than'. :flame:

What would you suggest people use that's different to different to?

You rang?

Using 'so' at the beginning of a sentence,or when replying to a posed question. That, whilst it may be an alternative,or different than 'errrr' really irketh.

I try to avoid 'got', but 'gotten' really annoys me :)

Or people ordering food: "Can I get __ ?" Yes, it's over there.

Another annoyance: 'met with'. Grrr either "I met" or "I was with"?

Customer: Can I get a cappuccino?
Barista: No, that's my job.

Whilst  we're in the coffee shop. It's NOT a :angry-cussingblack: laaartay. Latte is Italian.

"Orientate" grates on me....I have no idea why, its fully legitimate as far as I know. Orient/Orientate. Same thing, both valid.

I 'got' pulled up on that in a report @work a few years ago. Orientate is the British way, apparently ;)

I've orientated many a map.

However when I was rally navigating I kept the map static, with north at the top and didn't orientate it at each turn.
