Doing a bathroom refurb and needed 3 x 8 x 4 sheets of 18 mm ply cut up. 6.30pm waited ages - ''we've got your request'' but the store was v quiet. Bint finally turned up - really not interested - but I helped her put each sheet on the cutting machine and gave her all the measurements. Lots of little bits but she was too interested in her phone to put them back on my trolley - so I ended up doing it - despite entering a ''restricted area''. By the 3rd sheet I'd had enough. When u have bits cut up they normally put additional labels on the sheets to scan @ the tills - but alas when asked ''it'll be OK'' she said...

Like F**k. 10 mins @ the till 'cos he didn't believe ''so many bits only added up to 3 x 8 x 4 sheets...''

And if u think I'm being fussy - u try carrying 18mm 8 x 4 sheets up 3 flights of stairs and then finding a spare bed to cut them up on...

I had that once, 40 min wait for the saw monkey to turn up and that was after phoning the store three times and asking every member of we could find for help. Under normal circumstances I wood (sic) have gone to one of the timber merchants in the city but this was a Saturday lunchtime and I’d left it too late to get anywhere else.

I now just buy full sheets, bring them back on the roof rack and cut them down with either the table saw or track saw.

UPS the utter shower of shite.

Friday AM book a parcel on their website, to be picked up that afternoon. Website throws a wobbly and doesn't generate a label for me but does take the money from my card.
Eventually speak to someone who assures me that if I haven't printed a label, I'll get a prompt refund
Try to book again, but it's too late for collection Friday PM so the parcel won't be collected until Monday between 12 and 17hr !

Monday afternoon I get a call from UPS. It seems they've given the wrong driver the job, he's in Lyon (2 + hours away)
I speak to UPS "it will be collected tomorrow (Tuesday)"

Tuesday afternoon, no sign of UPS

All day Wednesday I'm emailing UPS eventually I am assured "It will be collected today before 19hr"

Nope, no-one arrived, no-one called. I contact UPS again and tell them to cancel the order and issue a refund.
This morning I get an email letting me know that my order has been cancelled and I will get a refund within 2 weeks

Found it! I should have looked up as i'd tucked it in the rafters,d'oh! Sadly it has no hooks in! I've ordered new ones which will be here tomorrow though. Also on the plus side, I found a front paddock stand that goes under the steering head thing. I'd forgotten I'd even bought that as I only used it once and that was some years back! The shed is turning into the same gold mine that the loft of many gifts is!
