Re: A right now thread
I'm waiting for a whole company meeting to start with an 'exciting' announcement, not the usual 'we're winning' exciting announcement as my boss has arranged a department meeting straight after to discuss it.
My money is on me being employed by one of the tech giants next week, that or unemployed.

Re: A right now thread
It's not what I expected, a takeover by a bigger company but not a household name.
The last time I was in a very similar situation it didn't end well.

At least I'll get a decent bonus out of this one before I brush up my CV.

It looks a million dollars now, and I'll not have it in a year or two's time, so I don't give a poo!

Had a message from a colleague I was in the office with on Monday, saying he'd gone down with it. Did the decent thing and did a test today as I'm in the office. I've been working up in the Smoke, going to concerts and theatre, bars and restaurants, with a relaxed attitude to the whole thing. By rights I should be rife with the dirty virus, but every test I have comes up negative.
I reckon it's me Sahf Luhnden genes. All the pollution and rat shit has given me immunity over the decades.
Everyone riddled, our eldest and my missus had it last week, we didn't make any attempt to distance at home, we ate together, shared a bed*, etc, but not a hint of the pox for me.
*I hasten to add, me and the wife shared a bed, not my eldest, I draw the line at Morris Dancing and Incest.

Fucking invincible, me.

Sitting in my lazy arse, looking at my bike outside that needs cleaning, but I hate washing bikes. The sooner I get it done, the sooner I can test ride it though...

Same here!
Nice day to ride but that means taking the covers off, putting the battery in, unchain it, move it out of the small space it’s in, get my gear on, ride it, then clean it and maybe do some pics to see about selling it.
Then put it back again.
Or I can have an egg and bacon batch instead.

Re: A right now thread
Just running round getting ready for our BBQ. Was forecast rain, but thankfully clear blue skies.
Got 10 coming so should be good. Can't cook quick enough for many more.
Even cleaned pool in case anyone feels brace
Got beer in all 3 of our fridges and 12 heavy glasses in the freezer.
Gonna get messy

Thank God you don't cater the trackday then! I've cooked for 30 on a small grill. It's hard but as long as people supply me with beer, I managed to cope ok.Yorick wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 12:23 pm Just running round getting ready for our BBQ. Was forecast rain, but thankfully clear blue skies.

When we have big parties we have caterers and staff to serve drinks.
But I love to cook BBQs

But we like quiet BBQs now. Bigger parties get different food.

Re: A right now thread
Right now aching like buggery. Everywhere.
Yesterday was first enduro ride in 5 weeks and I'd got out of condition
Especially left hand and forearm as that arm has been rested for last month.
Gonna get back out in the garage and hit the weights. Swimming usually keeps my arms strong but can't swim for at least a month
