Re: What have you done to your bicycle today ?
Mine was to one of my old bikes....I sold it to my boss, who's also a mate. I think it must have been 18 months or so ago now...
Yesterday we were out and he was having a few issues, gears, and a wobble at the back.
Ended up swapping the 2 bearings at the end of the axle of swingarm, they were pretty much shot. The 2 main pivot bearings may or may not be OK, but the bolt was loose so not 100% yet... The shock bushing was replaced as that was wobbly too and removed the expander link he had on the rear mech. I'm not sure how that'll go yet as it was fitted to get to the 42T sprocket on the 10sp setup...but weirdly i noticed the thread on the mech hanger was fried and removed it... but couldn't work out yesterday how to put it back LOL. So once i'd fitted a spare mech hanger i had for the bike i removed the expander and set the gears up. Need to test it with rider sag on there..
Then we'll move onto his clicky gears which i think is his chain.
After that it's a rear brake bleed and a headset tweak which was loose and rattly....
Happily, everything has come out of the spares box up to now, so no cost apart from my time.....
However he pays for my time (and my yearly bonus) and he's a mate

Re: What have you done to your bicycle today ?
Got mine serviced. New chain and cassette (I should hope so after the few thousand miles that are on the current ones) and a general grease/lube/fettle and it's perfect again. Oh, and did a new bar tape job with some stealth black Lizard Skins 3.2m tape - so comfortable and a lot less blingy than the black and white stuff it came with!
Very happy.

Well it looks like my AXS dropper is in trouble, it was sent off to TFT for repairs and service (it’s got a scored slider, should’ve had it serviced a year ago………). Turns out apart from the service kit there are no spares as SRAM are holding onto them all and won’t release them till 2023 at the earliest. Hopefully it’ll limp along till then but I get the impression from the man at TF it wasn’t pretty inside.

Re: What have you done to your bicycle today ?
Had another T130 in the garage today, this was another of the boys I ride with.
His was mostly better that last week's bike, only needing 2 bearings replaced.
That was until I rode it, the front was squatted down at 30% sag unloaded. Rebound slowest I've ever seen. Checked pressure, 37psi. Should be 100 give or take.
Transformed the front, well once I'd set the rebound too
Rear shock 115psi, should be 200+. So that was done too. Rebound wasn't bad though.
It should ride like a different bike!

Re: What have you done to your bicycle today ?
Got irritated by one of my boys mates... well more his parent than his mate... but both are a bit, well, fucking useless.
We were out last week and he had to bail early as he'd trashed his mech.... well that's the story i got told.
He couldn't go out on Sat with the lads as his bike was broken..."well tell him to put it in the van and get his mum to bring it here" was my reply.
Fast Forward to yesterday i get a message from the mum saying "Paul can't fix the bike" , Paul is another one of the mates parents, to be honest i wouldn't trust him to boil a fucking egg, let alone fix a bike.
So i reply to her saying "Bring the bike over i'll sort it".
reply... "It's at Pauls"
reply from me "fuck all use to me at Pauls, get it to me"..
Now taking into account, Pauls is less than 500m from my door, whilst i don't mind pissing about with bikes, i'm not walking to his house in the rain to collect it.
So 3:30pm comes and the boy brings it over.
"My days has tried straightening the hanger, been playing with the B screw setting and the hi-low screws, but can't get it right"
I sit and think "that's because he's a useless fucker mate.." but nod and tell him to leave it here.
15 mins later with a new gear inner, some sorting on the screws, well a fair bit actually lol, it's golden and getting all the gears. It does have a little dragging on the back brake so i look at that... Both bolts completely loose.... ewwwww. I don't know if it was uselss child or useless other parent who's at fault, but i sorted the alignment and it's all done. Bike is perfect...
Well, after i threw some much needed chain lube at it.
The worse part, this is a Canyon Spectral, it would have cost £4000 new, it's not a cheap PoS... Why can't people look after things.

Re: What have you done to your bicycle today ?
I'm currently resurrecting the E-bike. I don't know when it was last used, several months ago though at Cannock with Couchie. It's been languishing in the other garage since then so it gets ignored. It wasn't exactly filthy but not spotless either. Battery was completely drained it seems.
So it's now cleaned and up on charge. I'll then set suspension for me.
Why am i doing all this... well this weekends DH race for the boy is non-uplift. Whilst that's usually a case of 'push up you lazy bugger' i thought with the broken foot i should drag him up with a bungee and an ebike. So it'll be brought into action for that day. Sunday is uplifted though.

Fitted last years Rekon+ to the front wheel, not sure its going to stay on as its fizzing like a cola bottle blasted by shotgun pellets. So many pin holes leaking sealant......bugger.

Re: What have you done to your bicycle today ?
New Rekon+ fitted after the "incident" on Sunday. Also fitted Santa Cruz Filmore tubeless valve. Not cheap but worth every penny as seemed to seal on my Nobl rims far better than the Muc-Off ones and you don't have to unscrew the valve core to get they're seated as they use a slightly different design that flows about 3 times the air a normal valve does.
New Rekon 2.6 EXO+ is £75 notes RRP now!!!! Even with shop discount its still eye watering.

Tyres are bonkers I agree. Especially if you want decent ones.

Stuck some narrower 760 Renthal Fat Bars back on - 780 seems too wide to get through trees.
Put some tokens back in both sets of Pikes
Fitted and ISM saddle to the HT.
