Hizzy
Would have been 60 today.
I'll remember him as super fast on his day and very approachable, down to earth fella.

Re: Hizzy
Without a doubt one of the greats IMO- a very fast, if perhaps sometimes fragile character
-I love this pic, one from his slightly earlier days
-And in @Yorick style, how many of the others in the pic can you name, and what's the circuit and corner? (clue- is a circuit that many on here have ridden, albeit I don't think that you can spectate quite that close on that corner these days )

Re: Hizzy
I remember watching Hizzy in the 1989 F1 TT when he set the first ever 120mph + lap. He was dragging the exhaust can of his super-trick RVF750 all the way round Cronk ny Mona. He was on a mission that day.

Re: Hizzy
I've raced at Thruxton!
I've raced at lots of places, I don't think it's Cadwell or Donington.
I've never been to Silverstone, so it must be there!

And nope, not Silverstone, and I think you may be surprised when you learn where it is , I was, but have it confirmed on top authority ( Stuart Higgs), as you will have been around this corner lots and lots (and lots) of times I suspect, albeit nowhere near as many times as @Couchy has or of course, Yozza...

Re: Hizzy
I done lots and lots and lots of Cadwell laps, there is that banking around the Chris Curve/Gooseneck area, but it just doesn't look right and I can't remember that tower and I've been going since the mid 90's.

I'm assuming it's from the power station you can see that's not too far away, but i always thought it was further away than that tower looks.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 10:06 pmI thought that too, but surely that tower thing woudn't be good for aircraft, unless it's from a time before the airport?

Re: Hizzy
That was when he could ride.... i've seen him being trounced by 13 year olds now. "How the fuck does he go round corners that fast" was his comment.

Re: Hizzy
I had an FZR400RR just like that... I say just like that, but mine was an official 4DX UK model and Couchy's in the pic is a 3TJ JDM. You can tell me the mirrors
Mine didn't have a gay coloured screen either
