Re: 200cc race bike
most excellent. what are you doing with tank / seat - I see that seat is just perched there at the moment. a long thin tank of a 125 racer?

Re: 200cc race bike
Seat needs to go forward a little, then yeah a long slim tank like the RC racers of the 60’s. May go for a bit wider to make it feel bigger. Unsure on fairing, Honda mt125 fits but maybe a top fairing only. I’ll sort riding position then decide

Re: 200cc race bike
Quite a bit done here, spacers for wheels made, shocks and tyres in. Measured up for seat position and tank ordered. Engine is built and waiting camshaft. PVL ignition arrives and plates being made for engine. Lots of bits waiting to go on just need tank to arrive

Re: 200cc race bike
So there's the ER5 tracker, the Viffer racer, the 200cc racer, the Minitwin and the Enfield!
You've got way too much time and money!

Re: 200cc race bike
The VFR got finished and sold, the minitwin is just waiting on a shock. The ER has stalled through lack of time but isn’t far off tbh. Most time is being spent on the 200 but that’s waiting on parts now as well None of them were expensive and all but the Enfield will be worth more than they cost to buildKungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 10:01 pm So there's the ER5 tracker, the Viffer racer, the 200cc racer, the Minitwin and the Enfield!

Re: 200cc race bike
Looks like fun... I think I saw 65 mph on the clock a couple of time lol
With my brother and a couple of friends, we did some moped endurance racing for a few years, including the inaugural BIKE 6 hr race (4th) in Birmingham and the Superbike / Phase One race to Le Mans (2nd and that was after we started with no front sprocket - the circlip fell off before we even got to the ferry - we had to wait for the local Kawasaki dealer to open to get a replacement lol).
We home-tuned an AR50 engine, was good for an indicated 60+ on the long gearing but had a power band from 8000 to 10,000... wouldn't even pull before 5k. Great fun, and destroyed the clutch by the end of each race
"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer." Henry David Thoreau

Edit, yeah. I was looking at it funny.
