Friends, Bikers, country people. Lend me your ears
Or more accurately, your opinion.
Stopping with the Stepson ATM. He knew we were coming, yet we found 46, yes we counted, teabags in the drainer.
He works 2 days a week, so not exactly rushed off his feet, the garden looks like the forest is taking over.
His mug looked like he'd just had hot chocolate, but it was the staining from tea/coffee!
He lives there rent free, and is the epitomy of DILLIGAF.
Apparently the vacuum cleaner he bought last year 'was shit' which is why the carpet was covered in crap.
The detritus was so tightly compacted it has started to form it's own gravity well!
Beginning to wish we weren't having a family xmas

He's a lazy slob, it's his life to do what he wants with, but I wouldn't be staying there, it sounds disgusting.

That. Although I think using the word 'slob' is being a bit kind to him.

Good punch to the ribs (up by the armpit is best) and tell him to sort his shit out.

Get him hooked on motorbikes, the need for money will make him get a better job, making him sort his shit out.
I'm tempted to post a picture of my work tea mug, it's pretty gross, certainly got patina, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

He's free to live as he wishes to, and so are you.
If it's such a shit hole, refuse to stay there and go home but you have to explain why. It may well give him a kick up the arse.

I'd probably muck in and help him clean it whilst my piss was boiling throughout - I just can't stand that sort of mess and dirt wherever I'm staying and certainly not if I'm eating or sleeping there.

Straight up front works for me.
The wife hangs around with a group of friends that live similar to your step son. Though most of them haven't worked a day in there lives, just pop out 2 or 3 children to different fathers and live off the welfare.
I have no "filter". The wife is pretty use to that now. She too was getting dragged into there lifestyle until I told them all to their face and in these exact words that they're a bunch of lazy fat doll bluding bogans and they need to get off their fucking arse and do something. Wife has a full time job now and 3 out of the 4 friends are working.
That approach might be hard for you if you have a filter and never express your opinion to often.
Approach 2 : Shit on the lounge room floor and say to the step son, "best you clean that up, along with the rest of this dump"

My wife had a friend similar to that before we got married, I gave her a simple choice, it was either keep being friends with the idiot or have a relationship with me, it was at a "dinner party" round this friends, I was prepared to leave the wife there and never see her again.DW. wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 11:06 am Straight up front works for me.

If he wanted to live in his own, paid for by him, home like that, then fair enough, but to treat someone else's property like that is both disrespectful and disgusting. I'd not be happy with him spoiling my family name in that way.

You'd better start paying out
Spot on!
He has 'mental health' issues since forever.
Personally think he's Asperger's/Autistic but he's never been tested.
His real dad is dead, and his mum and sister don't want to put too much pressure on him, which I think he uses as his pressure valve.
As for stopping here, 3 more days and clear LFT then we're outta here.

Best way to be if you like to live in a clean and comfortable home that's welcoming to visitors.
