On Mt's, the seat and light finish the bikes rear end, so tyre sits very proud out back, therefore throwing up shit. It is a common design on naked bikes these days and was followed with the introduction of those horrible number plate hanger things.
So, I fitted a rack, but still shit got under it, so today I've filled in the gaps with sheet plastic ( lads old college folder) and hoping it works. It's a shame I've had to do this on a new bike. And, with the indicators popping out of their fixings ,( design flaw by Yamaha and without doubt will change on next model for sure) at the slightest brush, that two big faults for me.
I'd even started looking at bike replacements.
If this don't work its going. I don't mind riding wet roads, I like a trip and these two faults would dampen 
my biking enjoyment. So the bodge looks ok i think, would be in the way of straps but with roll bag on back seat, spray shouldn't be a problem.
In other news, my Xmas present arrived size Large. spot on. Happy now.
the bike creates some sort of vortex at a certain speed, which is causing a rotating mass of road shite to loop around my rack and deposit itself on my pillion seat. ☹ However, the PSB is stopping direct spray from between seat and under rack, therefore I'm happy enough for now.
