How are they to ride, like an exercise bike or a real bike, if you get what i mean?

The wife wanted one, and i poo poo’d the idea as being a fad thing, a very expensive fad thing!!

Its a weighted flywheel thing so loads up nicely and does replicate climbs etc.
They are expensive but the online classes are excellent, they have some brilliant instructors. I thought I'd hate it but just the opposite....

I like the idea, I enjoyed spinning when I used to do it, but the bikes are £2k and you've still got to pay Pelaton £38(?) a month subscription for the classes!

Agree its a bit pricey but considering how much I use it, its worthwhile. My fitness has improved vastly using it...

Also, you can use their app on any spin bike or trainer for considerably less.

I can now only show an empty space in my garage where my Trek used to live. Entirely self inflicted I hasten to add....

Prices for 2nd hand e-bikes are sky high at the moment, but this probably won't last much longer, and I fear we are about to experience a recession that will make 2009 look like a walk in the park so I made the decision to sell the Trek and stick the money in the bank.

I've got my money back, and a bit more, on it.

If the world doesn't end and the money doesn't need to be used then it'll represent a tidy down payment on a new e-mtb. I'm thinking a whyte e180 RS, but we'll have to wait and see.

In the meantime I've got a Ducati to finish.

I’ve gone the other way on got a new Whyte T130 or T140S (not 100% sure of the name yet) on order for December.
Hope you do manage the new E bike, I bet there amazing

Some of the photos are a few years old now so the bikes are a lot more used.

BMC Fourstroke FS03, my first full suspension XC bike:




Six months later I bought this Commencal Meta AM from Weeksy:




A year after that, I moved on to this Whyte T-130:




After a few years away from mountain biking, I recently bought this Trek Powerfly 9.7 LT:




My brother is storing the BMC and the Commencal and I dread to think what condition they'll be in. Got a text message two weeks ago asking what the cranks were on the BMC as his step-son "has butchered the pedal thread".

The BMC also had a replacement frame after Maccecht snapped the downtube and top tube:




I bought this Whyte Stirling in 2012 for commuting to the office:



It's currently hanging in the shed and really only gets used if the OH wants to go for a ride with the kids. It's a very rapid bike for city commuting, very stable but nimble enough for avoiding pot holes and filtering, the brakes (Avid) are simply awesome though that's aided by running good tyres (I stick with the OEM Maxxis Detonator).


I replaced the Stirling with a Condor Fratello for commuting duties though two months after buying it I met my OH and moved in with her which resulted in my commute going from 9 miles e/w to 35 miles e/w:



The Condor is a lovely bike to ride. Not the lightest with the steel frame but much more comfortable than the Stirling. I regret getting rim brakes but it was the sensible option at the time and the Condor salesman talked me out of spending money unnecessarily.

Apart from trails, I'm not actually a keen cyclist but there is something about bikes that I like, probably more so than motorbikes.

It does in those photos. The replacement frame was dark grey with red instead of green, not nearly as nice to look at.
