Is Verstappen the new Schumacher?
I don't mean as a prodigious driving talent, but as a win at all costs merchant!
When you take yourself off track in your attempt to block an opponent, the red mist has gone too far.
I know the sport has been littered with rivalries that have ended races in shattered fibreglass/CF, but nowadays, with the emphasis on safety, perhaps MV needs an hour on the naughty step.

I thought he deserved 5sec for the move, but didn't expect it.
Being a pauper watching Ch4 coverage I'm always disappointed in Coulthard's comments that suggest the stewards should 'allow it so we can have some fine racing', I'd rather the stewards fairly and consistently applied the rules, and if the rules are too nannyish then change the rules.

Oh, as for your first line, yes, kind-off, but nothing like as cerebral as Schumacher.

And would it end up like BTCC used to be - fastest Banger racing ever?Kneerly Down wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 10:31 am disappointed in Coulthard's comments that suggest the stewards should 'allow it so we can have some fine racing'

Re: Is Verstappen the new Schumacher?
BTCC is still fast banger racing.
There's some serious 'nudging' goes on.

I think so. His radio message after the Monza crash was quite telling to me "That's what you get when you don't give me room". To me, that implies the he is coming through, no matter what and if you don't make space he's happy to crash into you.Demannu wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 8:57 am I don't mean as a prodigious driving talent, but as a win at all costs merchant!

If there's not at least 5 spins and a destroyed barrier is it even a proper race!

It will be interesting to see the steering wheel input from the Red Bull if the video ever gets released. The stewards will have all the data from both cars. I have a feeling it may not in the hope it all blows over.
I haven’t even seen slow motion footage frame by frame similar to that that was shown at Silverstone and Monza. Hopefully that will surface in the next few days.
I wouldn’t pay much attention to David Coulthard as he still does consultancy and promotion work for Red Bull and is pretty partisan in his views.

In all honesty Hamilton is F1’s version of JR but much worse in the sense of “he’s an absolute boring cunt”………

Re: Is Verstappen the new Schumacher?
Max pushed Hamilton right off the track to the extent he went off the track himself . As soon as it happened Horner was on the radio saying it was "let them race" ...... i am no Hamilton fan boi but Max needs a kick up the arse as he seems to have the idea that whatever he does is fine and as soon as someone says boo to him they get a penalty
There was a lot going on this weekend with Red Bull making protests about Mercedes and also nudging to say Mercedes had some wing issues. Hamilton got a penalty . Red Bull changed their wings outside the inspection time which tends to suggest they also found what they thought was the loophole but managed to avoid the penalty
I used to have a lot of respect for Red Bull and Horner for how they did things but this season it has all gone with how they protect Verstappen for his risky/dangerous moves and blame the entire world if he loses out

Re: Is Verstappen the new Schumacher?
Nerf have just asked for a review after new footage emerged
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

Re: Is Verstappen the new Schumacher?
No, Schumacher was more shocking as he had such an immense level of talent, he didn't need to play dirty.
Max doesn't have anything like the talent MS had. He's just a better Lance Stroll.

So, according to the FIA, if you're racing.for.the world title, then anything goes,.if you're Lando Norris and remain in control but make a driver go wide, you get a penalty.
Seems RBR has become the new Ferrari!

For me this sums up F1 perfectly, it’s terrible to watch as it is without the politics and shenanigans that go along with it.

FIA used to stand for Ferrari International Assistance ...... what a surprise when Jean Todt left Ferrari and became head at the FIADemannu wrote: Fri Nov 19, 2021 8:06 pm So, according to the FIA, if you're racing.for.the world title, then anything goes,.if you're Lando Norris and remain in control but make a driver go wide, you get a penalty.
