Well, I took a chance on a rather tatty and rough 2001 955i Speed Triple that needs love. It has a few faults which I will mention later.
It cost me the sum of £1300, it has 58,640 miles on the clocks, it has decent tyres, chain is so so, new starter, relay and blows the 10A battery fuse for some reason yet to be discovered. Winter project it is!

The BMW was an awesome bike, but just to quick for me! Simple as that. I like a slower bike that I can use properly on the roads without stressing about how easy it is to go so fast! I've also always loved a SP3 and this ticks the boxes nicely in giving me something to clean up and make good.
Nothing like a little project to keep me busy and in the garage occasionally. It is not my main means of transport now, it is ULEZ registered so no charges apply etc...

Aaaah. Fuse problem may well be sorted for pennies.... nothing like thinking to myself, hmmm, what did my Sprint RS 955i 2000 model have for that fuse? Looks on Google Images and reminds myself that yes, it was a 30A rated fuse NOT a 10A fuse as previous owner has been using, riding with a pocket full of them for when it inevitably goes "Pop goes the weasel". Gave it a good blast with the jetwash (careful of radiator and bearings/electrics) and it has cleaned up nicely. A lot of road crud has been removed. Not Weeksy clean by any stretch of imagination, but it is cleaner.
I have ordered an Abba Stand, it came with the adaptors, short levers, fuses, engine paint (yes, it needs that!) and an instrument binnacle backing box thing. That was fractured and water can get into the unit there, so for £30 I bought a NOS unit! Does the trick for me.

And LED H4 bulbs which are MOT safe.... supposedly. I know that the headlight loom is rather sensitive to drawing currents, so want to drop the draw on these and provide better lighting if the bulbs fit (return to amazon if not).

Yes, very right on the tank pad. I'll have to use a solvent or hair dryer to try and shift it. Not sure if it is OEM though? Perhaps not. Still the tank is dinked and scratched, so it may end up being replaced if I can find something worth replacing it with. E5 only as it is plastic!

I reckon you'd be alright with just the hair dryer if it were a metal tank, but the paint doesn't seem to stick as well to plastic tanks and it will pull it off. Deffo take it really really slowly and let the solvent soak in.

I've had a 955i Speed Triple and two 1050 Speed Triples. They make me ride like a hooligan
Rear hub bearings and rear suspension linkage benefit from cleaning and greasing, otherwise they're pretty reliable
Is this the Triumph engine that has the coil sticks that seize into the spark plug holes if not regularly removed or proper greased when the plugs are changed?
That one looks like good value
