I see they've given the 'Daddy' the same paint job (different wheels tho')

I could just buy an MT10 and ride it badly.

I refitted the screen using smaller spacers on the lower mounts... however it doesn't really work at all. The bolts don't line up properly. I was hoping to get the wind at a higher angle...

Fail.

Earlyish one today... My lad was still asleep and the wife was doing girl things so i thought i'd shoot out while morning warm ups were on and then i'd get back for the racing.

I think it's potentially the final throwdown for the season. The roads are getting more and more crappy, leaves, mud etc all on the lines you want to be on. Along with the fact they've got a constant sheen of "not as grippy as you were hoping" all over. Whether it's moisture from the clouds or just an overall dew-point i don't really know.... but they're not quite ideal. It only slows you down a bit, but still, the bike is going to get crappy. So i think we'll be sticking the cover on it for the winter now.

Looking back, i think the screen does actually do a good job, so it'll be going back on i think. The reason it seemed like it was noisy is because it makes everything else a lot quieter. So you notice one part of the noise. But that noise was still there without the screen, just mostly hidden by the other noise lol.

I ended up stopping in East Hagbourne which is the church where me and @Welsh Muffin got married, i was in the area so thought i should stop for a photo

Really enjoyed the ride and it kinda suits where i am at the moment in life with the conditions, so i am going along at a decent pace, but it's not chaotic, not frantic, sometimes i open it up, sometimes i just cruise along waiting for a gap that's an actual gap, whereas back in the day i'd have been creating my own gaps in traffic. I don't know if that makes me a smoother rider, i expect others will have thoughts on that who've ridden with me, but it makes me a more relaxed rider anyway :)

I guess the last step is "winter mods"

They were
Remap of ECU (Which is on hold due to software not recognising my ECU as it's too new)
Slipper Clutch
Quickshifter.

With the gearbox being as effortless as it is through the gears i'm not convinced the QS brings anything to the table. The ECU remap, meh, again i'm not convinced.
The Slipper clutch is still in my mind, but only for certain applications which would be on track at Pembrey into the hairpin for example. But i'm not convinced i'll throw £650+fitting at it.

That leaves the higher seat, which is certainly going to get tried out, but i'll wait until Black Friday and see if any Yamaha shops are doing a discount on parts.

Other than that, it's just a case of waiting for spring. :)

Raining here, so I went out on my EMTB instead of the GSX.

Foggy here. Typical November morning. I'll just pick my day's over winter . The crf will be getting more winter use I think.

I wouldn't have a bike without heated grips these days and I'm leaning that way with the QS 👆👇 aswel.

Roll on Easter. 👍

I'm thinking about a quick shifter for the GSX, mostly because of my problems with my left elbow hurting

It's a bloody awful day here, fog, rain and that shitty grey half light, still I escaped yesterday and bought a pair of Summer gloves in readiness for next year,so can't complain.

When I asked in the shop for Summer gloves, the owner asked if I was fucking emigrating.

Having ridden my bike for the last two days its so dirty it'd give @weeksy more nightmares than a a swarm of Weeping Angels.

Only if I'd bought it. If it's not mine I don't care.

Just one thing I was thinking about earlier "do I regret not going 690" and the answer is, no I don't. I'm really pleased I've got the mt07 instead in honesty.

The only thing I do miss is the KTM forum banter and chat as the mt07 forum is weirdly quite considering how many they've sold.

But in a bike context, I'm more than happy

Probably because the Yamaha owners are out riding the bikes while the KTM owners have loads of spare time to spend online as their bikes are in the dealers getting all the assorted faults fixed ;)

If you'd told me that I'd be heading out in the middle of November riding a bike I'd have laughed at you. But with dry roads and an early finish that's exactly what I did. Taking in some of my favourite local routes over towards hungerford via Wantage and through to Newbury.

I did stop for camera shots but my phone camera stopped responding so I didn't bother lol.

I'm not quite as high on miles as @Dodgy knees being on 380 but in my defence the longest ride has been about 45 miles only. I don't really stray too far. Although this weekend if the weather holds I may go and see @G.P which will add on some more.

Even though I have heated grips on it still gets a bit chilly on the fingers I must admit. Palms are toasty but the fingers, not as much.

I'd be really interested to have something like Strava to see where I am in terms of relative speed on the mt07 compared to my other bikes on these roads, it certainly feels as easy and smooth on it as I recall things ever feeling out there. I'm even regretting not letting you all buy the plate now as this thing is staying ha ha. Seriously though, it really is.

380 miles, I've done nearly 500 on my Suzuki and I've only used it for 3 weekends, it's probably the first time I've ridden a road bike in November since 1986.

I've not ridden at a weekend yet as I'm out MTB riding with my boy every weekend. If I get a 90 minute window to ride I'm happy. But with kitting up etc that's closer to an hour.

🙋‍♂️ Excuse me... 530 I'll have you know, and it ain't been ridden for a fortnight. Riding to dealer tomorrow should put 40 odd on it, so about 570 ish, near enough. Still got a dodgy back. 👎

Knee's a lot better these days, can I change my username. 😁
