MAybe you're just being an arse and quite bitter about the world. Who knows. Sometimes i get confused on this place by the depths of despair, cynicsym and bitterness that so many of you seem to carry round with you.

Can't you just see the world in a happier/nicer context ? there's enough shit going on without you having it at the forefront of your mind every minute of the day ?
Maybe you're taking my glib attempts at humour way too seriously, My comment was meant as a joke (I do actually believe that Musk has a island in the South Pacific, complete with sliding cover over the volcano crater and a working monorail*, but even interstellar travel is a bit far-fectched, even for him), because, as you say, life is shit enough, what with my M-I-L dying of dementia and my F-I-L suffering a breakdown dealing with it, my wife having to deal with both their issues, losing my B-I-L to cancer last year and a good friend to the same cancer this year, plus my mum's on-going travails with bladder cancer. So when I post on here, generally it's light-hearted and maybe a bit to subtly ironic. Maybe the humour misses by a country mile sometimes. One think I guarantee is that I never come on here to moan or to bring people down. We all have shit in our daily lives for that.

To quote Guy Ritchie, 'Chill, Winston'.

To quote my yoga teacher, 'Namaste'

Yup - people often read what they want to read, and obviously there's no extra levels of communication along with the written word, (ie tone of voice, facial expressions, body mannerisms etc etc). On forums like this, until you've actually met the person writing the words and developed a reasonable understanding of their persona, then you're missing out on something like 50-60% of the actual communication.

'Tis why it's always best to read anything* dispassionately and to consider the source/context etc of the words. If you can't do that, then you're going to be affected (more often than not negatively) by what you read.

* I was going to write 'on the forum', then realised that it pertains to social media (of which forums are part), then realised that it applies to everything written online, and then realised it applies to every written word.

Put the tablet at the back of the drum, it dissolves before it makes its way to the front.

New tumble dryer. I just bought the first one I saw.

The old one was eons old, you just put it on for n minutes - bosh - easy.
The new one you have to 'program' using hieroglyphics.
I dunno why this is so incredibly annoying

I bet you didn't read the BBC/Which article about total cost of ownership/energy costs before you bought it.

You should have bought an £800 miele because they only use £15 a year in leccy.

Have got 15 year old Miele appliances - washer, dryer, fridge/freezer. If and when they die/become unrepairable they'll be replaced with Miele.

I've recently replaced a newish working Miele tumble drier with an ancient old one I was given as broken*.

The Miele, being a condenser type, took forever to dry a load, the old one doesn't. Being as I have to heat my house anyway and my main fuel is kerosene I reckon I'm greener using the old style simple drier.

The Miele washing machine stays.

I think Which has it's rose tinted specs on when it expects appliances to ast 15 years. Heat pump dryers have a lot more parts in them to go wrong so I doubt they make as much financial sense as Which likes to think.
I bought a heat pump dryer and I think it's quicker to dry a load than the condenser it replaced but I wouldn't have spent that much if it wasn't used at least once a day. I had to look at a few to find one that wasn't run from a phone app, I don't need an extra pointless step in using it.

Ugh, kill me if I ever do research on white goods.
And woe betide I ever own a tumble dryer that a burglar thinks is worthy of pinching.

People aren't moaning or crying about government conspiracy so much, so I have less to pick on.

I wake up every morning absolutely buzzing to be alive, I have the life of a lottery winner, if I wasn't me then I'd be working towards being me
But sometimes I feel like a teacher who is very happy, but gets cross with the children wasting their time in the class and feels compelled to point out why they're being little shits.

Listening to the last 5 hours of non stop fireworks going off around my area. Just ridiculous amounts of money going up in smoke... that would feed people and heat houses for many who are in need. Noise and air pollution as well.
