That's not my problem. If you go to a fancy showroom, you pay a lot more than a smaller garage. Your choice.

That's why mobile mechanics used to be cheaper still, but you cant say a main dealers is a rip off as such. Bigger places with bigger workshops and more staff means more overheads. When I worked at a (car) dealership, you were also expected to carry £xxxxx in parts stock and merch etc. Also worth noting that on modern vehicles the dealer plugs in the OBD port and there can be software updates to come through. You wont get that at Bobs Bikes under the arches!

Or buy new bikes as all the dealers have closed down because no one uses them. Or have new technology developed as there's no manufacturers left either, etc etc.Taipan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 6:29 pmThat's why mobile mechanics used to be cheaper still, but you cant say a main dealers is a rip off as such. If the dealers didn't charge so much, they'd survive. They don't need a 5* showroom.weeksy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 6:34 pmOr buy new bikes as all the dealers have closed down because no one uses them. Re: Tracer out...MT09 in. 😁👍
Put the best part of 200 miles on it today. Dry in the sun but where the sun don't shine, care required. Got home and pillion seat and jacket once again covered in shit. That's with the box on.
There's a gap between seat and rack/box and spray is coming through. Got to think of something to block this up, maybe a piece of plastic/perspex to fill gap cabled tied to rack. Not great for a new bike.
I have had a few bikes with tidys on and never had it as bad as this. Problem being the short arse end of these bikes, along with yamaha official tail tidy. Cracking bike though.
Any ideas appreciated.

I wouldn't want to be a pillion that's for sure I may be able to move the rack support bar forward, hopefully closing the gap.

Don't like standard and it's staying in the bin. It'll get sorted sooner or later.

Thought I better try front end stand. Works great. 3rd bike now. Bought for sdgt, then when tracer arrived had to take some metal off the insert bit. Tracer and mt must be about the same. All good for tyre swaps.
First service tomorrow.

That screen looks great, doesn't look too big in the photos. Threw my leg over an SP at the weekend, really nice. Feels a similar size and fit to my Trident.

Re: Tracer out...MT09 in. 😁👍
Yea, was picked up at the first service. Sat in the dealer for almost 3 weeks with pretty much communication or call backs. A very long story short I went to Triumph direct and got it sorted.
The bike has been great, other than a very clunky gearbox. 2nd to 3rd and to 4th can often be as clunky as engaging first from neutral. I've read this quite a few times on owners groups. But everything else about the bike is great so far.

Changing gear at different revs makes no difference I presume. May smooth out with miles.
