Sold the wife's Mini Cooper. I was going to put it up for £2995 with a view to getting no less than £2500. But as people say car prices are high I put it up for £3795 and just got £3600 for it! BMW going up for sale tomorrow!!

I've been for a drive in the wife's new (to her) Ovlov.

It's really nice. Almost as comfortable as the SL, it corners really flat, which was a surprise as I was expecting it to be a bit wallowy with it not being a sport car and also being jacked up over the standard model (it's got faux off road styling).

Mrs Potter had a petrol C30 and it was shockingly dull, she sold her Civic Type R and had the C30 for a year, then traded it in for a newer Type R.
It was a good car and looked nice, but it wasn't very exciting to drive.
This has been purchased with the sole intention of doing 20,000+ motorway miles, it's much more about comfort than excitement, but I was pleasantly surprised how well it actually handled, but then the V40 is a Ford Focus underneath.

I've had a C30, a V40 and a Civic Type R. I've done maybe 100,000 miles between em.

Unsurprisingly the CTR was miles more fun than either OvLov. It also was (literally) twice as thirsty. Can't have it all. Much noisier inside too and generally quite harsh.

The C30 was "funky". I loved my own, proper good daily driver when it was just Mrs D and me. Mine had the mega ~900W stereo which few people optioned cause it was so expensive. Very comfortable too. It died on the M1 when I was involved in a 6 car pile up. The car which rear ended me was totalled - it left its engine on the carriageway. The seat and pedals collapsed in my Volvo but all I had was a slightly stiff neck.

I bought the V40 on PCP using the insurance money from the C30 as a deposit. The V40 was even more comfy than the C30, but being bigger and heavier it was also quite a lot lumpier to drive. It handled well enough though, its hard to get a bad car these days!

I traded it in for a 3 series and I don't regret it :D

I passed everything, with 4 seconds to spare on the run, my lad failed on his timings so he's got more to work on.

I was quite chuffed, I told my missus I wouldn't pass but I did with energy to spare, so I got home and did a 200m swim - my lad beat me fair and square on the swim though, he's like a fish on account of growing up spending half his life in the ocean.

He's only ever beaten me swimming, but the day he leaves me behind on a run and does more push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups than me will be a proud day for me. I've always pushed myself very hard and if he beats me then he deserves it.
The day one of my kids burns the soles of my feet with a hot crack pipe will be a proud day too. Of course I will then chase them out into the night with the budget replica samurai sword which hangs on the living room wall.
To a kid looking up to me, life ain't nothing but bitches and money.

I got up earlier than planned - not just cos the clocks changed, but was wakened by a noise from a cat and realised there was a good possibility that the bastard thing was going to pee in a corner of the bedroom   I do love cats, but why do some decide NOT to use one of the many litter trays or even, go outside, using one of the open windows available!! LOL Guess I know why they aren't allowed in the bedroom now!! Downside is that the only window that opens is up in the high ceiling and she said it was difficult to open so don't. But I do need to have the door open or I get too hot!! Oh well - here's hoping they haven't done any silent pees on other nights!! :wtf:

Anyway - all sorted, so I figured, I'm up now - forgot about the clocks and thought it was weird cos I felt much more awake than expected!! LOL

I've got some friends coming to the cat sit chalet this afternoon for 'Afternoon Tea' Soo, this morning I have made a Lemon Drizzle cake and some scones :D Couldn't find a measuring jug, so the mix was a bit too wet and took longer to cook, but hopefully they are ok - I need to get the recipe my friend in the shop uses. I love buttermilk scones, but never sure which recipe to use!!!

The cake shop friend gave me her tub of clotted cream yesterday :o :o - I have to take back what we don't use :o :o :o   Never seen so much cornish clotted cream in one place! Just got to search the place for some jam now

Next on the list - carry the rubbish bag and recyclables to the bins down the road, do a tidy and sort of my stuff, tidy and sort of the resident 'stuff', a bit of a sweep and clean and then chill out till they arrive at about 14:30

I do so like having a kitchen big enough to cook stuff without resorting to putting things I've made on a sofa!! And having a huge table so it's easy to ask people to come round as there is somewhere to put a cream tea!! LOL Can only imagine the mess if I try to set out a cream tea at mine - that bit's probably doable - but actually eating it would get complicated

Hey ho - more cat sitting next spring I'm sure :D :D :obscene-drinkingcheers:

The one you won?
No, her old one. Her new one is worth £20k plus. Plus she'd divorce me, or stab me through the heart, or both, if I sold her new one. She absolutely loves it! She even made me buy a steering wheel lock for it! :D

Just realised we hadn't put the clocks back, so I started turning them back. My wife, realising what I was doing, said, "That's a shame I thought I'd had a lay-in"! :wtf:

Yesterday actually, but we had a nice day over on Fuertaventura. Normally go with the lads and it's an intense, insane day out.
But went with one of the enduro lads who's a bit steadier on his ST4. Took the girlies as well so was steady. A couple of times on the twisties I went past him and had a play. The missus doesn't mind a short quick blast, but it's hard to hang on so just 2 or 3 minutes each.

It's always a great day out, but on the ferry we all say "It's nice to be going home " :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Went out at 1am to collect my daughter and her friend from their "Costume Party". Got home at just on 2am after taking said friend home and then heading home ourselves. Back to bed for a couple of hours. The at a Church to celebrate the Eucharist and preach. Lovely place to be.

Collected new bulbs for the car and headed home for some lunch and coffee. Emails to some parishioners and heading back to Church for the next two services.
