Bosch e-bike with ABS unveiled

Post by Beancounter »

Looks quite good I reckon though I'd like to remove the front light/carry rack:

I would have thought the ABS would suggest year round use when the roads are slippy but strangely, and despite the rack at the front, there don't appear to be mudguard mounts.

Still not as easy on the eye as the Canyon Roadlite:

No price mentioned but upwards of £3.5k at least because of the suspension (looks to be full sus with a hidden rear shock) and the ABS?

This will have the cyclists spewing which is a good thing, motor, abs, suspension, no spoke wheels and flat bars...blah blah when I was a lad you had to earn the right to go fast on a bike etc etc :)

But that's where they've hidden the ABS module

I hadn't thought of that. Still looks a bit strange IMO.

No idea, I've not been following bike tech for the last few years so was actually surprised to see that ABS was being mentioned. I guessed £3.5k upwards given a standard e-mtb starts at that price though I assume the suspension on the Bosch bike will be more basic than that found on an e-mtb.

What use is ABS on a pushbike apart from muddy downhill fun on an MTB? :?:

Those Roadlites look great, would be a perfect flat bar commuter but for some reason they don't have rack mounts!
The new Boardman e bike looks pretty good as well.
With ABS I really can't see the point on a bike. It's fixing a problem that doesn't really exist.

It reminds me of a bike from the 1980s but I can't remember the name of it.
