Well, 500ml of Turtlewax shampoo and wax is £6.14 on Amazon so that's effectively, approx £4 with a free bucket, sponge and cloth thrown in. Sooooo....I'd say that's quite cheap. What else can you buy for £1.96?
2 beers here :)
Bet you need them right now

Today I broke the habit of a lifetime :(

Been a footy supporter for 43 years since I saw Best, Law and Charlton win the European Cup. Always stuck by my team.

But today when it was 0:4 at half time, I came out and cycled home. The mood in the pub was shit.

I'm calm by the pool now, with a cold beer.

Weeksy will be giggling though.

More a case of ‘What I didn’t do today’

Spotted someone selling a nice looking Brompton folding bike for £175 on our local Facebook page.

With the idea of flipping it on and making a few quid I messaged him within an hour of it going live but was just too late.

Finally got around to 'fixing' the drone.
Flies straight and true with a nice stable hover.
Doubt it will ever fit back into its little case again though!

Just had a Whatsapp conversation with the Gremlinette. She has offered to take me for another pedicure this week as my feet are 'dank' to use her exact phrase. She suggested black and orange Halloween-themed matching toes.

It's a tempting offer. 8-)

I've been looking at houses again to solve some difficulties looking after my in laws, my wife suggested renting somewhere short term as a quick fix. This is the only suitable place for miles, great value for only £30k per month.

I got my Mum a Bosch WAU28T64GB Serie 6 washing machine delivered on Thursday with "EcoSilence Drive: Delivering an efficient cleaning performance, by using the EcoSilence Drive for a powerful and quiet wash cycle, with a 10 year guarantee." From the first wash it was making an awful noise - sounded like the main drum bearing (if that's what they have) and shook all over place on spin so that was picked up yesterday and I need to find another. I'm gutted that Bosch have let me down

.......so, Amazon came and collected the washing machine the following Monday, a washing machine that was perfect when it arrived but probably knackered by the time they picked it up do to running a couple of cycles with the transit bolts still in situ  Yesterday I received a full refund and ordered exactly the same machine again, due for delivery on Friday

It's a service like that and customers like me that ensure Amazon drivers will always be on minimum wage

A friend gave me a "pouring petrol" training session. Following the Pembrey trackday and the petrol crises I had to admit to myself that I needed help if I was ever going to get petrol from a can into my tank without losing a litre and standing in a puddle of the stuff WCPGW. I sought the advice of a petrol head friend who taught me to tip the can sideways so that the opening was always at the top to minimise sloshing. I'm now a pro!!! :banana-wrench:

I had a good couple of days meeting friends. Sunday I cooked a very cheap and cheerful sunday lunch for some friends who drove over to the cat sit house. Bangers and mash!!  Onion gravy for three of us and baked beans for one!! LOL Followed by steamed sponge pud and custard

The special bit was I finally opened a bottle of port that I had from my Dad's office after he died, ten years ago. I hadn't looked after it very well and it was a very old one (1966) so I really hadn't expected it to be any good. But DAMN, it was the best port I've ever tasted - something the others agreed on :D :D We only drank half the bottle, so I'll be taking the other half to a meal that's planned with some friends that just got back to resort - he loves cooking as much as I do, so they are planning a full on roast when the final one of our group gets back this weekend :D

Yesterday I went to resort to collect the keys for the other friends apartment and then caught up with the two that are going to do a roast for us all. Damn I've missed having conversations with people like that! So so awesome to have good friends back.

Today is the ten year anniversary of my BDad dying and I've been really happy to spend the previous two days with good people :D Off for a French lesson this afternoon and then going to meet some other 'good people' for chats. No time to be sad :) And, I have another bottle of that port to open another day :D

1966 is an outstanding Port vintage of exceptional quality that was generally declared. Always overshadowed by the legendary 1963, this year is now recognised as being one of the very best post-war Vintage Ports. The wines are characterised by being long lasting with firm, perfect weight and balance. Most will outlast their 1963 counterparts and turn out greater in the long run.

One of the guys did some looking up and apparently there were only two good years in the 60's for port, 66 and, I guess, 63!

I haven't been able to work out why my BDad had these particular bottles. I'm not aware that he was a collector. Two of the friends that helped me test it are ex Navy - Dad was ex Army. Apparently it's possible that it was something from when he left the army. 66 isn't a date that resonates with me - before he got married/had kids. But possibly when he left the army. Maybe!

Anyway - it was this one -

LOL I'd opened this one before we looked up the price. TBF, if it had been worth thousands, I'd have sold the other bottle and we would have Really enjoyed this one!! LOL But at the price, I'd rather keep the other bottle until we have another celebration sometime. Byt the time I've found someone to spend that on port, I'll be working again!! LOL

The problem with selling is that the buffs get a bit :hmmm: about provenance - has it been stored correctly etc? If it had been stored somewhere like the Wine Soc they charge something like £12 a case pa. So that's 55 years at £1 pa off the £158.

Nice to have 2 of any nice old bottles though, that way you can always drink one/sell one. Then you never have to wonder what it might have been like. (Better still, drink both :D )

Santé!
