Deer whistles

Post by Hot_Air »

Do deer whistles make vehicles less attractive to Rudolph, or are their claims merely hot air :?: Does anyone know the evidence? After yet another close encounter of the animal kind, I'd like to know.

I hadn't heard of them either. It's sheep and cows around here,however.....

"Studies indicate that deer whistles are ineffective and at best inconclusive in reducing motorcycle accidents".

That was the first thing I came across on google. :silent:

Standard fitment over here!
From personal experience, not had any wildlife step out in front of me since I've had mine on.

There are a lot of deer round here and I looked at them few years back, lots of opinions saying they do nothing and zero opinions saying they work.

They definitely don't work on Highland deer.

Maybe the whistles are region sensitive?

Don't see that many deer on my rides, never had a deer whistle, but

One group of deer in Buckinghamshire ran down the road for 100 yards before deciding to jump over a hedge.
Another group in Dorset ignored me and a whole dual carriageway full of traffic. They were too busy eating the grass on the verge in the sunshine.

I can't really see that a deer whistle would have done any use in either encounter

Deer, not Duck.

Can’t see you having many descendants, if you can’t tell a duck from a cunt.

Friend of a friend hit a deer with his R1, split the deer in two.

Poor R1.
