What do you reckon will hit the market in 2021?

Sure I read about this somewhere, Honda developing a V4?
Hopefully it'll be a full HRC weapon as the grandson of the RC30.

I'd like to see more realistic bikes being released instead of 190bhp nakeds, i just don't get that, 100-130bhp, well, OK, sure... even they're a bit excessive still...But i kinda get them, but up in the 160-190-200bhp nakeds, well, i simply can't get my head around them.

So some nice fully specc'd Twin/Triple/V4s with great suspension, great electronice and 120bhp, yeah that'll do me.

THe one thing that would make me think VERY hard about my world though, a KTM 790 Supermoto, with 165kg and 690SMCR styling, but full electronic package and 110bhp, yeah, take my money right now please.

Dunno about an RC30 type thing, but I'll be surprised if we don't see another (either bigger or smaller) version of the Africa Twin- if Honda are developing another V4 than am guessing that will have to be a sportsbike to try and give them a leg up in WSB, if that is still important to them.

I reckon we'll see a V4 Ducati MultiStrada - adventure and naked bikes will be the bulk of the new models, from the mainstream manufacturers at least.
I also expect to see more in the way of electric bike options over next year or two- not currently seeing fossil/electric hybrids making it into bikes

I'm not sure what would get me spending money, I'm currently only looking at the dream bikes of my youth... oh and a V85TT - but realistically I'm not sure the Guzzi would be a sensible buy for me, I'm likely to put less than 250 miles a year on anything and it doesn't make sense.

I saw a concept Aprillia adventure bike that was done up like the 80's Paris-Dakar bikes, that looked great, but same as the above.

Motorcycles seem to be appealing to less and less youngsters in Europe, so aside from dirtbikes I'm not sure where the market will go.
Retro stuff has been popular and there is still a small market for big bhp race reps, but I'm struggling to see many stand-out bikes.

I'd like to see a small Africa twin - a new Transalp? I'd also like to see a lightweight sportsbike with the Africa twin motor in it - Surely they'll put that motor in another bike?
The Ltd edition 765 Daytona Triumph was disappointing as it had old 675 styling - would love to see another 765 sportsbike.

How about a 6oo twin Triumph tiger cub? - roadster or lighter trail bike?

Guzzi to build a Lemans retro in the same way Triumph have hit the bullseye with the speed twin. ANd if we're going that, Ressurect Laverda and give me an SF750 twin and a modern Jota :thumbup: :thumbup:

I don't know what I'd like to see from any of the manufacturers,they need to show me shit,then I'll wave it away like some spoilt,overindulged child. :lol:

Years ago there was loads of bikes I lusted after,but there was always other demands on the budget. Ironically now I could pick and choose more easily,there is nothing tempting me to change. :roll:

I quite like some of the overpowered nakeds,but I'd miss what a sports bike delivers and I'm not quite old enough yet to give it up.

Back to watching what pops up,then. :mrgreen:

How about a proper pucka Superbike, but with a Nikken style front end, but also a version with a traditional front end and lets see which is quicker.

The Honda concept bike I linked to, I'd prefer it if it had a mid sized engine tuned for mid range, rather than a 140bhp 1000cc engine, 90 bhp is more than enough for me, I'd be happy with a 60bhp 600cc 4 cylinder bike.

I reckon the trend for retro-styled bikes will continue, seems to be a drop in the demand for the high-end sportsbikes?

I've still got this hankering for a Triumph Speed Twin - will see how my business looks over the coming months and if good will treat myself :thumbup:

You know they made it already, right? 2020 CB400.
Even if it has EFi and VTEC it's still based on a late-80s engine, so I guess they don't send it here because it can't get through EU emissions.

They've been selling a VTEC CB400 since the late 90s, I think that body work shape since 2006, great little bikes, I'd happily buy a new one of them at a sensible price - the non VTEC one I had was great, could have done with a bit more mid range power though.

They'll add VTEC one year, EFi another, four-pot brakes another, LED headlight another, swanky wheels another, etc, etc.
Incrementally changes but yes same basic bike as when they started making them, around 1992.
Maybe the VTEC gave it the midrange you wanted? Admittedly an extra few cc would have more chance.

I look at the VTEC ones occasionally, sometimes they come up at sensible money, but they're always the other end of the country or overpriced.
The engine is similar to the early CBR600s (but not interchangeable) so a bigger cc version wouldn't be impossible for Honda, though I suspect the Hornet fills that role as far as Honda is concerned.

Having racked up 500 miles in just over a week I can safely say you won’t be disappointed if you get one. I can’t keep off mine, it is ridiculously easy to ride and the engine is a real gem- lots of torque across the rev range, a lovely burble from the V&H pipes, slick gearbox and a slipper clutch add to the pleasure. The finish on it is superb with loads of lovely details, it really is one of those bikes that makes you smile the moment you open the garage
