I like them but the can be a bit harsh for some. If not, go with SBS Street excel which are also ace.

Met up with G.P and IanB for a chat and a ride today, ended up at Premier Bikes KTM/Triumph as GP wanted a little look around. So would be rude not to go with them.
When i was there i had the random thought that one day the Track Pack would be getting lobbed at the 690, so may as well do it today.

Track Pack gives Traction Control, Ride Modes, Supermoto ABS and MSR (Motor Slip Regulation). So that's now done.
The ride back was in Sport Mode.... Jeez it's awesome fun. I don't know if it's faster, but it's 100% funner ! Throwing it into turns is effortless, it seems lighter than my bloody MTB. The dirty messy roads bother me so so so much less, the gravelly bits don't worry me and don't matter like they would before. You just get on with it and have fun. Awesome ride out !
As i was at Premier i also collected one of the items on my order, a 15T front sprocket (16T is standard). It's always a good mod on bikes and works really well on 690s too.

Quickly fitted and done... easy job of course. The front nut is only 80Nm on the KTM, unlike on the ZX6R which is about 2000Nm

Getting there mate, you've not seen the lower shock arms/mounts yet... but they're a job for Monday as i'm off racing MTB tomorrow all day.

The tab washer is pretty effective at holding the nut in place so it doesn't need to be done up mega-tight.

Lunchtime brought a stripdown of the front end.
I wouldn't go as far as terrible... but it was a long way from perfect. There's been a few bolts that have clearly been lost somewhere along the line and replaced with others, as well as a few bolts that have been touched up with silver paint... a little disappointing, but i guess is to be expected on a 5000 mile bike... I do sadly need to come to terms with this on a used bike LOL.
Most of that dirt is hidden behind the front mudguard, but that doesn't mean it's completely invisible and indeed that it shouldn't be resolved
But the bike is now sorted, cleaned, lubed, put together correctly. I've ordered some replacement bolts from KTM, well, quite a few actually.
I've also pulled off the radiator guard and behind that was hidden about 1kg of mud and dirt.. that's taken a load of scrubbing, cleaning and random products to get it somewhere like respectable. It's also highlighted that i need to order the Evotech Performance guard as it's a lot lot beter at protecting that radiator than the R&G.

People who tart bikes up by painting the bolts need a shoeing!
The first time anyone puts a socket/spanner on the paint starts to flake.
Not as bad as the Varadero I bought, when I removed the tank I didn't close one of the fuel taps properly and it spilt petrol down the side of the engine... turns out both engine side covers had been repainted... with non-petrol proof paint

I was trying to decide whether there will ever be a more "Weeksy" shot than that - but then I realised you're slacking because you wouldn't have left the microfibre in shot in the old days, you'd have just let the bike speak for itself

Seems reasonable.Thank you for your email and I'm very sorry the bike isn't as clean as you expected, or indeed I made out.
Perhaps I should have looked closer, but I do feel it's a nice clean bike. That said, your XSR is exceptionally clean on another level which I can only thank you for.
Obviously condition can vary in the eye of the beholder and your standards are very high which is not a bad thing by any means.
Please accept my apologies for this and I can offer to send you £50 towards the replacement bolts if that helps?
