When I was in my late teens, early 20's, all the cheap/sporty cars were for sale in Bradford, most of them were absolute shitters, cut and shuts, ringers, etc... It just seems to have stuck.

From 6' away it was clean.

It was a car dealer, who also seems to have 6-8 bikes up for sale.

I'm happy as it was £500-800 less than the equivalent bikes plus I got a very good trade in and it delivered FoC.

I've probably thrown 90 mins to get it respectable.

At the end of the day that's all that matters, and I in no way intended to piss on your chips, if'n it was me it'd gone straight back on the trailer.

I suppose there's an element of 'they all do that' with regards to the finish and the fasteners, it's just a bit of a bummer that we've got the the point where it's acceptable.

It was still dark when he arrived. I knew before it arrived it wouldn't be as nice as I like them, I've never met anyone who has my level of attention to detail other than OCD himself.

The exhaust has come up lovely too, so it's just the bolts and fasteners left which are hopefully in stock at KTM tomorrow.

As you know, i don't really do lie-in, so finished off the stuff for this weekend now, well apart from riding it which is planned for later.

Jobs remaining.
1. Shock mounting hardware/brackets etc to clean. (won't bother until shock arrives)
2. Radiator guard. It has an R&G which is held on with cable ties and lockwire, that's just how the R&G are, a bit rubbish. So i've ordered a new Evotech Performance one.
3. Finish cleaning. Still needs the wheels out both end, pads checking, then cleaning and sorting both ends.

Is it feasible to ditch the cat and save weight? They aren't the prettiest of things. (It was a common thing to do with GSs).

It's a LOT lighter yes... However the exhaust weight as you may guess is in the Cat... I rekon that's 6-7kg right there.

The problem is, it becomes incredibly noisy without the Cat... even with the Leo Vince 'siliencer'


it's still then too loud, although with the Cat off and an exhaust i rekon you'd be down to <150kg bike.... but the noise !!!!

I actually fitted the baffle into the Akra last night after the ride i had with @2xtwins . It wasn't incredibly noisy from the riding seat, but i could tell it really was for the rest of the planet.

It's a shame, the Leo Vince part looks much better. The baffling effect of the cat on the GS was actually so great you could ditch the silencer and still pass the dB test! Hmm...sell the Akro, put a heavier, quieter silencer on and ditch that cat?

Bit more checking, cleaning and sorting. The pads in there are Brembo SA, which was a nice surprise.
Caliper needs a decent cleaning but that's not a job for today.

Are Brembo SA pads the ones to go for? Given I don't think my bike will be going anywhere till mid next year at the earliest I might change the pads as I'm gonna do a proper caliper clean up over winter. It's still on the OE pads which weren't fab new so reckon I'll def see a benefit
