I mostly use Linux. When I use Windows I fire it up, do what I want to do then shut it down. I very rarely leave it long enough for the lock screen to kick in but if I remember correctly, when it does, I just put my PIN in again to unlock it. I used the Outlook password one time when I got it and saved it in Keepass, I haven't needed it since.
Can you mount the Windows partiton from linux, open the KeePass database file in Keepass on Linux ? (or copy it and open if you are worried about corrupting the original)

Our even have the Keepass file in a shared space and open it on your phone.
Or in Linux

You'd already mentioned Linux but had been ignored, which is why I mentioned the phone option. Keepass is available as a phone app on Android, not sure about Apple.

Linux can be a scary place to go. For most it's a new operating system and would take weeks of learning to get to the point of actually working with it. Windows has bash included these days for the Linux curious.

The problem was that I needed the Outlook password to reset the PIN. If I could reset the PIN I could find the Outlook password but I needed the PIN to get into Windows to open Keepass to find the Outlook password. Microsoft, very helpfully , offered to send an unlock code to the Outlook account that I needed the password for. You see how circular this is?

I resolved the problem by booting into Linux and retrieving the Outlook password. Yes, I could have done it on the phone but it's a pain putting in a long password using the touchscreen and I usually get it wrong several times before I get it right.

Consultants....

Just had a video call with one at my place. Wanted to know the 'As is' process for issuing Certificates of Deposit. I ask him if he wants me to explain the product and how it works. He politely declines and says he knows all about it. Great! This should be a short meeting!

I then spend the next 45 minutes answering his very basic questions in Peter and Jane tones about how the products works as he demonstrates quite beautifully how he actually knows fuck all about them. Why not just say that and save us the time?

Doesn't exactly BMP but - ordered 4 things from Amazon last week. 2 could have been delivered next day, 2 today. So, no rush I thought, let's get everything delivered in on go and save a delivery trip.

They've just delivered 2 items and the rest is due later today.

Bikesport on tv.

Why are the directors obsessed with showing replays of the start of the race for no particular reason at all? I can understand if there has been a jump start or some other incident, but they do it regardless and usually spang in the middle of ongoing live race action, ffs.

Mr./Mrs director, please don't show me the start again,I've already watched it,you know,at the start.

Weather apps.

Every time I look at them they're showing something different. It doesn't matter if it's on the phone or the PC.
Up to the minute information is fine, but if that means it constantly changing it's useless as a planning tool 'cos you know in 5 minutes it's going to show something different.

I'll stick to the BBC TV weather I think.

the weather only app I pay any real attention to is this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... s&hl=en_GB

All it does is show you the previous 3 or 4 hours worth of rain radar. You can then make your own mind up about what 'might' happen in the future.

Because it's showing factual data, not conjecture, it's accurate.

There's a whole bunch that use the same radar info.

I use www.raintoday.co.uk/mobile

Trinity posted a link recently to a site that supplements that:

If it's free, the app folk aren't paying for good info.
The BBC pay plenty.

I lick my finger, stick it in the wind, squint at the driving rain and predict sunshine and sunny beaches. Not worked yet, but no harm in trying.

At my parents, they're both in bed and I reckoned I've earned a G and T. Pour a healthy amount of gin, ice and a slice, get some tonic from the cupboard, it's flat, best before some time in 2013. There's another bottle, that's flat as well. The only stuff left is some poncy Fever Tree with elderflower my sister left behind. On the up side, she's coming over next week so I'll do my best to drink it before she arrives.

That's par for the course.
In a couple of weeks he'll release a report telling you all about your industry and your job, and people on here will use it to tell you how you're wrong about everything
Probably because he asked about the process and Gremlin waffled on about the product for an hour.
