Give it a go. Quite watchable.Yorick wrote: Thu Sep 30, 2021 3:12 pmI've never heard of them and Google didn't make it any clearer.gremlin wrote: Thu Sep 30, 2021 12:42 pm The Defiant Ones. Netflix.
Basically a documentary about Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine and their respective careers in the music industry. Bit of a glossy affair, but interesting four parter. Lots of famous talking heads chipping in.

Dr.Sleep. (sequel to The Shining)
I enjoyed the book, but as with a lot of Steven King stories, the flick is a let down. Not Ewan McGregor's finest hour.

Said it once, I'll say again. Arrival, on Netflix. A most rare movie in that it's Sci-fi, but intelligent.
One of my favourite films.

Have you read the collection of short stories it's taken from? Unhelpfully I cannot remember a single detail about the authorgremlin wrote: Sun Oct 17, 2021 8:04 pm Said it once, I'll say again. Arrival, on Netflix. A most rare movie in that it's Sci-fi, but intelligent.

One of my favourite films. They're all "alternative science" type stores - mostly wondering about what would happen if various religious phenomena were objectively real.
Nope. Got a few books queued on my Kindle but might check that one out.

Re: Last Night's DVD
Yeah that rings a bell.
I read it cause I liked the look of the film when it first came out, but CBA going to the cinema to see it. The book it is based on was a couple of quid on Kindle so I bought that instead.
I've seen the film now BTW, it is good but it feels like a short story stretched into a film. Once you know the ending of course its a bit less special.
